Used Maschine+ product registration failed

So I bought a used Maschine+ at Guitar Center. Came home, used the QR code reader on my phone to start the registration process. Midway through the process, the QR reader app crashes. This was between the product code being entered and me entering my own account information. So I go back through the process, and now the code comes up as invalid, telling me that the product is already registered! So is there some ghost account now with no information to which this Maschine+ is registered? I tried going to ni.de/register, and I get the same outcome. I am told the Maschine+ is registered to someone else. My QR code reader app, I suppose. I opened a support ticket. Literally just purchased this at Guitar Center less than two hours ago. What a bummer.

Support are the only ones that can help you with account and registration issues so great that you already have opened a ticket with support ! 🙂 Mishaps can happen so great that you can probably have support fix it. Mind you problem could be another. Normally seller will have to transfer the hardware serial to you from sellers own account. Anyway , even if it is still registered to original owner you still have to take it up with support !

Thanks for getting back to me. This is very frustrating. I am eager to try out the Maschine+. I guess I can just return it to Guitar Center. The fact that this happened suggests a bug in the software that allows it to complete the registration of the Maschine+ without being attached to an actual account. Very unfortunate. I understand one can't address every possible contingency, but this is kind of a doozy. I was looking forward to using my NI software after a long hiatus.
