re-installing a library when it says 'locate'
hi all.
any ideas how to re-install / re-download a library that Native Access is saying 'Locate'?
thanks!

This appears to be a ProjectSam instrument and will need to be installed (by a separate download from ProjectSam) PRIOR to heading into Native Access.
Once installed - you will use Locate and point NA to the location of your True Strike install - NA will read the data and authorize the instrument.

Thanks. But is there a way to force native access to reset so that it can be re-downloaded?

I think you may be missing the point here - Native Access (generally) has no knowledge/connection to any third-party libraries whatsoever - except to ensure they are authorized for use on your machine.
NA can only handle download and install of the core NI product line (plus a few other exceptions here and there - like say some older Heavocity stuff that still appears out there etc.)
For any third party NKS instruments (like anything from ProjectSam) - you need your serial number AND original third-party installer to deal with situations like this.

The downloads for all projectSam libraries are handled by Native Access.

Installation instructions from projectSam's website here: https://projectsam.com/download-tfo/
edit: actually it looks like they've updated their instructions, or those only apply to the free library. in that case are you on mac or windows?

so basically i had this library installed, then i had to delete it to make some space on my HD.
i bought an external HD and am now trying to re-install it but i dont have the original files and Native Access isnt allowing me to re-download it.
im on mac.

So basically Native Access thinks it's still installed. I'm guessing because the plist file for it still exists. Check out this article https://spitfireaudio.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009029834-How-to-remove-a-library-from-Native-Access-Mac-OS
Basically you need to find the plist file for True Strike 2 and delete it so NA will quit thinking it's installed.

thanks. annoyingly there is no truestrike2 plist file anywhere so something must have gone wrong. i’ve emailed PS asking for a download so let’s see what they come back with.
fun times!

This issue of locate/relocate was brought up during the last Native Access Q1 2024 update, so hopefully in the future they will fix it and make it so you can install a product regardless of any "issue" with a directory.
