No Real benefit of Komplete Collection edition

The topic might make people feel this package is trash but its awesome, just that I wish I can get more.

Scenario:

As a CE user I wanted to have access to old product from 5 versions back. I just found my old project I worked on with a friend that was made with kontakt 5. As a CE user will it not be nice to have access to Kontakt 5 and other old product then, Yes I agree it will be 32 bits and alot of DAWs dont support that now of recent, but I still have the studio one version It was made with.

As a CE user, I feel it will be fair to get that benefits to open old projects in latest versions of kontakt. With version K7, K6 didnt migrate at all to load the same project made with K6 and reload in instrument in K7.

I feel a good sync is needed there and that goes with older version K5.

K7 is amazing but performance dropped. Having a better way to rebatch save instrument will be nice than having to do it on every instruments in my case over 70.(Hell on earth)

I just want the best and still want more 😂.

I have projects using Kontakt 5 and it does not seem be problem to be used in Kontakt 7. At least it seems to me so. But I have Kontakt 5, 6 and 7 installed.

Generally, the best solution is to have old version of Komplete that contains Komplete 5, Upgrade to Ultimate that contains Kontakt 6, and Upgrade to KU CE, that contains Kontakt 7. It is at most the same price as buying K14U CE directly, but most probably way cheaper if one buys Upgrades at regular Sales....

One has more for less money.

But you are right, it might be good to have access also to old versions of SW or SW that is EOL, like Absynth.

I guess it is not so because NI does not want to provide support for old SW. Except for users that do have particular licence.

Backwards compatibility is a disputed issue, and Kontakt 5 was discontinued years ago (Jeremy_NI quote) so I think that it's now considered Legacy software. You should however be able to download Legacy Installers for Native Instruments Software Products (including Player versions of Kontakt) : https://support.native-instruments.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000306817-Legacy-Installers-for-Native-Instruments-Software-Products (if you can get them to run without problems I wouldn't know though and may also require use of an older version of Native Access).

Be careful spending money to buy legacy products…

Soon even NA 1 will not be available anymore and therefore we will be left with the only possibility to authorize ONLY what NA2 and NI decide we are allowed to authorize. No matter if you paid for them

NA2 authorises Kontak5 and allows its download. At least on Win10.
