Just brought a Maschine Mk2

Hi i just purchased a Maschine Mk2 for £79 from Cash Generator it is in great condition. It came with no box or Cd and looking on the bottom there is only a ID number but no serial.

I do not have anyway of contacting the previouse owner and i guess Cash Generator do not ask the seller to leave details to be contacted by.

What are my options plz

That's not the right answer Milo. He has serial, its right there in his picture. What he doesnt have is a License Transfer ID. You can get one from NI Support if purchased second hand with no way of contacting the original seller.

I followed the same path to get into the Maschine... I however sought out another Maschine controller that was being sold with a license and solved the problem that way

but as I understand it now... you can purchase the Maschine software provided you have a Maschine controller that is legit.... not all controllers purchased are legit, ie educational units or stolen ones, this is one of the unspoken pitfalls when purchasing 2nd hand

this cannot be anticipated with cash converters etc...

in any case I hope you sort things with support... and find a path forward for your Maschine adventures!!

I don’t see the serial number as well, only the Device ID which can’t be used for registration. You have to open a NI Support ticket to ask for help.

Without the serial number, there’s not much you can do other than return the unit for a refund, or use it as it is if you happen to have bought a Komplete Kontrol keyboard since Maschine 2 Essentials software is bundled with the keyboard. (It seems that Maschine 2 software is not available as standalone purchase.)

I zoomed the picture with my phone and there is no serial number, unless if I am looking at the wrong position or corner.

If you know where the serial number on this picture is, tell me, I might be wrong.

Just know that the serial number needs to contain exactly 25 characters.

Looks like the serial number sticker (which should be above the device ID sticker) has been peeled off at some point.
