What can I transfer to my Maschine Plus?

You can transfer the following resources to Maschine+
- Samples (oneshots and loops)
- FM8 Presets
- Massive Presets
- Raum/Phasis Presets
- Reaktor ensembles (without DRM protected content)
- Kontakt patches (without DRM protected content)
- Maschine projects/patterns with sounds
- Maschine internal plugin presets
If you plug the Plus into your computer, nothing happens, unless you activate CONTROLLER or STORAGE mode via Settings, in which case you can either transfer files between the SD card of M+ and your computer, or boot up M+ in controller mode, and then it acts like a Maschine MK3 controller until set back to STANDALONE again via Settings (which can only be accessed within Maschine app while in controller mode)

I would add that the workaround to bring your vst instruments not officially working into your M+ is through the autosampler.
If one instrument is not thought to work for M+, you can always sample it and make your own “Maschine+ version” that way

@tetsuneko great list. What I (and probably even support and dev teams) am not sure is what license of Reaktor and Kontakt is included with the M+ and whether you can use custom content with them even if you don’t own the full Reaktor/Kontakt licences.

Yeah, that's a strange one.. As I have had licences for both applications long before I was even a Maschine user, I cannot test or know anything about that. All I know is that none of the included Reaktor Factory content was properly working on my Maschine+ standalone after I started using it, and NI CS had to do some tweaking to my licences to get them working.. Go figure.

@Jeremy_NI Do you have more information on the usage of custom instruments on Maschine Plus?

Well, only the Reaktor ensembles and Kontakt instruments included in the Maschine Plus Selection bundle are officially supported.
It does not mean that user ensembles or some custom Kontakt libraries will not work but that it's not really an intented use and it's not officially supported.

yes, but theoretically speaking, does one need to have licences for Kontakt 6 & Reaktor 6 in their NI Account in order for USER patches to load for both of these in Maschine+ standalone?

@tetsuneko Only the Maschine Plus Selection should suffice. For some issues in the past, one of the fixes was to add licences for Kontakt or Reaktor but that should not be necessary anymore.

Thank you, that’s interesting!
Especially because I had full licenses of way long both before the M+ (Reaktor 2 anyone?), but needed my licenses to get fixed (maybe because it was a «long and winding road» to my Komplete).
@Jeremy_NI I think it would be worth a sticky in the forum to explain this and what to do exactly if it doesn’t work.

I don't know what happened, but Maschine+ refused to load my own massive patches. I tried to save the patches via vst2, vst3 and AU, but nothing worked. All products are up to date. FM8 patches worked just fine. Any Ideas what i did wrong? I saved the patches in storage mode on the sd card. I tried the user content folder and Maschine 2 folder, without success. Thank you for any help.

What version is Massive on the Plus and on the computer?

@Superdisco101 I think Ozon nailed the issue.
Since you say that “all products are up to date”… Massive got an update in the last weeks ( the first of February, to make it NKS2 compatible), therefore if you updated it the version you have in the computer is ahead of the version you have in M+. A patch made by a newer version can’t be opened by an older version (usually).
Is this the case? I’m gonna ask to post a link for the previous version compatible with the one in M+ in this thread, where Jeremy is publishing links for another issue NI created (regarding Kontakt)

Yes, if patch compatibility is essential to your workflow, DO NOT UPDATE Massive desktop to the latest version!
Hopefully, we will get the new version for M+ in the next update.. which would be rad because it would allow changing the wavetables directly in standalone mode, something people have been asking for since Maschine+ was released
