Will maschine software ever have stem separation?
Hi.
after seeing MPC live include a sonically amazing stem separation software in its new update and also to be avail as a standalone, I’m wondering when and if N.I. Will make some moves???
I switched allegiance to N.I 7 years ago after being a loyal Akai follower for more than 20 years. Now I’m thinking about possibly going back to MPC as N.I. Spends very little time making the software better. Simple updates with very little to excited about. Instead of putting out these mediocre Play Series, they should focus more on Making Masch software the best in the industry. N.I. Kinda started that software revolution and now they are letting Akai make a strong comeback and taking the lead. I’ve convince many producers young and old to switch to Masch but now I will not automatically do it since Masch has fallen behind heavily. Maybe. Miracle in 2024 🤔🤞🏼

Seems these types of post get taken down around here. Like it’s a secret NI has gotten stale. I’m right there with you but I’ve been a huge fanboy since the release of Maschine, I defended them over and over and turned many new producers onto maschine. I Own damn near every product. This forum used to be awesome. Now the moderators are full of themselves and often answer noobs very rudely. NI does not what to hear from us who can see the forest through the trees.

Absolutely that’s why I try to show up and vent here every now and then. They’ve got a great catalog and a hell of a history with innovation. Reaktor back in the day was mind blowing compared to other options available then. Maschine was exactly what I wanted someone to figure out when it premiered and Akai took forever to answer back. I appreciate your take, be cool and have a great one!

I think few large companies respond to threats to be fair. Ie, "you owe me, because i've been a customer for x amount of years", "I've bought everything you ever made and I demand this and that or i'm leaving and i'm going to tell all my friends and they're going to follow me too". So maybe it's equally constructive to ask questions nicely and look all the better for it?
Much like Apple, they release new stuff when they're ready. I know it would be nice to be in the loop and know what's happening, I think we'd all like to know that, but some companies give you a roadmap (which they may or may not stick to) and some don't. Cest la vie.
Promise customers stuff and not be sure they can meet their expectations though and they will get so much flack. I saw Akai go that way a few years ago with 2 years of hate and they haven't given a date for the standalone release probably because they're still scratching their heads wondering how they're going to pull it off, but give it a few months and their customers will probably start demanding it. We'll see.

Yeah Kami.
I'm new to the forum. but will keep asking questions. Nearly the same. Ive given so much of my money to NI that they'll owe me/us to listen at some point. See what Users, Content Producers did when WAVES tried to impose a susbsc. only service. They spoke out and Waves had to listen. Social Media is more powerful than they are today, we have the power, so don't lose the faith, they will lose the customers. We can always keep our system the easy it is and move on to MPC if Necc.
As a Triple Platinum producer I have still heavy hitting Producer friends, Artists, Mix engineers, record Execs and content producers who I will notify if N.I. plays stupid with us, I will get the word out as I did when PluginAlliance played games :)

I don't really have any idea about anything with MPC but what is 'stem separation software'?
In Maschine you can export the song as stems instead of the full mix - it can be by sound or by group to separate stem files. It's in the options when exporting. Is that different than what you want to do?

Check Neural Mix or FadR.those stem separation software. I know you stem your tracks out on Masch but this is not the same at all. Im talking being able to separate parts fo.your fav records. Like having Clyde Stubblefield drums clean straight of the James Brown record or any record youd like to take parts from. In HipHop music we couldnt dreamed of this. Some software are ok but MPC is gonna revolutionize it sonically speaking...hope this explains it.

Thanks for commenting. Well see if our efforts make N.I. make.moves. btw. The Support replied yesterday and said that they were working on it (update & Stem sep) but couldnt give any more details. 🤞🏼

I don't have triple platinum producer grammy and oscar winning friends, but my friends working in the music biz as mostly amateur and semi pros tend to be clued up anyway and find out how to do things for themselves. I'm not sure if some hot shot producer is going to take someone who isn't a hot shot producer seriously when talking about ways to make music.
Lots of posts ask for the same thing and make the site look a mess imo and become hard to follow, so if you keep creating posts without looking what has been posted already then it might well be a duplicate and might not reach the right people that you want to reach. Every site has a clean up on Isle 8 when threads start asking for the same thing as it's hard to keep track of what people are asking for. So have a quick look first. There are threads asking about this, but also keep in mind that there's only a vague release date for it in controller mode ie when connected to the computer where many of us already have software that can separate stems and no real date for when it's coming standalone. So it is possible than NI, or a whole host of others beat them to the market, because i've seen features that took around 2 years to come the MPC after they were promised. So if you use your machines tethered to a computer, then happy day, you've been given a rough timeline, if not, then don't count your chickens until it drops.

Im not sure where youre going with your comment… im not trying to show off anything. Im trying to have N.I. React to our posts and get moving as they have been slacking on this software for years… who saying Im a hot shot producer? Ive been making music since 1992 my guy starting with an S950…
Im just saying that if nec as Folks did when Waves imposed a subscription, users and content producers stood up and ****** Waves out and the outcome. Well Waves had to go back to their old system. So i feel we can do that if we all speak and ask N.I. To get moving.
it would be more constructive for you to send links of this same convo cause this forum is not the easiest to navigate.

Jiglo. I hope too. Lets wait and see but like I said to Kamikaze. n.I. informed me that "they were working on it" whatever that means. 🤞🏼

Use phase reverse polarity I'm DAW and make extraction or removing elements from the Mix, it's Old Technique used successfully, current A.I. is full of blessings but two identical Audio Channels with same Audio file, reverse polarity phase on one and it will Lead to sound cancelation, every difference is producing a Sound and depending on how accurate EQ but even some other FX are used you can separate Vocal easy but it's not instant , it's not Click away but it definitely offers more control. Ozone have such plugin but it's under restauration FX not something illegal. If I missed what you talked about that I am sorry 😉
