    Aah yeah… that’s why I’d muted you before… 🥱

    Page title:

    Compatibility Statement

    Which says:

Please note that even though the beta version of Sequoia has been available for some time, we ultimately need to ensure our product compatibility with the release version.

Currently, only the latest versions of the following software products are supported on macOS 15: […]

    And:

These hardware devices are compatible with macOS 15 […]

Guess what, no Maschine MK3 or Maschine Plus on that list. So the conduction of “systematic tests with macOS 15 Sequoia in order to offer full compatibility” still isn’t completed yet.

So if I would ‘jump to the latest version of MacOS my (previous version) NI software wouldn’t be supported. And as long as we don’t know IF and WHEN version 3 on the M+ is stable enough for primetime, I cannot update MacOS (which I didn’t, simply because NI isn’t supporting all their hardware and software).

But it seems you really like to play word games with your fellow USERS, so maybe you should apply for a job as a NI Product Manager. Free pyjamas included 👍🏻 👋🏻

No word games, just the facts. Earlier in this thread I asked why you couldn't just use Maschine 2 if you need compatibility with the Maschine+ and your reply was "because it's not compatible with the latest MacOS".

Now if you haven't updated to the latest MacOS then that doesn't matter, does it?

If it's "not an issue" for you personally, why kick off?

As it does actually work fine on the latest MacOS then IMO it's misleading to be posting statements on the public forum implying that it doesn't work. Luckily another user has clarified the situation.

i have sonoma, don’t have the stones to update the OS just yet. My M2 version is the same as on my M+, there is one newer version of m2 for desktop but waiting to update until final m2 release, and then I’ll see how m3 works on m+ before updating it.

Like I said, I have two Apple Silicon macs, one of which was updated from macOS Sonoma to Sequoia, and another which came from the store with macOS Sequoia preinstalled. I just retested things on my "updated" macOS yesterday, and it was still working. Got my Maschine+ working as a controller for both 2.17 and 2.18 (yes, I broke my M+ project compatibility just to indulge you guys..). Just hope the update comes ASAP, since now I cannot open Maschine desktop projects on my M+ anymore..

I am going to retest using a Maschine MK3 with my M4 mac mini next, running Maschine 2, just to verify that indeed, its still working on both systems. Hell, I'll even take the M+ with me and also test with that one with the M4. Will report back if I encounter any issues

"I broke my M+ project compatibility"

At what point does/did compatibility break, as from what I can find online (NI statements) 2.18 is still supposed to be compatible with the M+

"For users of Maschine+, projects created with 2.18 on desktop should remain compatible with the current version of Maschine running on Maschine+ (2.17.5)"

I don't know who said M+ and Maschine 3.1 aren't compatible with Sequoia but this just isn't true. I bit the bullet and upgraded Maschine from v2 to v3.1 and it works perfectly fine on macOS 15.3.2 with M+ in controller mode.

The fact that v3.1 still has low res UI is another mind boggling matter altogether though…

2.17 is available to download, running it on m1 sonoma perfectly

M+ loading Maschine 3 projects… this differs from using the M+ as a controller 🙄

And yes, also M+ / MK3 hardware should still be tested and confirmed by NI.
You can’t ask your customers to upgrade MacOS and do some trial and error to find out if it works.

Especially if this involves upgrading the M+ when M3 SW is being released without an option to rollback.

Precisely. I don’t upgrade to sequoia until next OS. Staying one behind to ensure unsupported compatibility:)

Just finished retesting with both MK3 controller and M+ with my M4 mac mini running Sequoia 15.3.2. Buffer size 32, superb performance with no issues, I even unplugged and replugged a USB cable between MK3 and M+ and things caught up on the fly without hiccups (handoff across controlers). Maschine desktop version 2.18.4

Either way I should be good, as long as we get the M+ update "soon" LMAO

If you want to play your desktop projects without a computer, in the current situation (end of March 2025), Maschine+ can't be used for this scenario. I need to detach a second computer from my second setup, use it as a host for Maschine 3, and connect the M+ as a controller. So what's the point of having a standalone unit?

And after all these months and delays, how much longer are we going to wait until M3 comes to M+? Two years?

The point is to keep using Maschine 2 until M+ supports Maschine 3, which should happen within the year. If you cannot wait that long and insist on using Maschine 3 (why though? its halfbaked at best ATM and offers very little new on top of Maschine 2 besides new bugs), then you indeed need to use another computer..

I personally still remember the mess that was Maschine+ in October 2021, right when it launched.. If Maschine 3 on the + is a repetition of that mess all over again, I wont touch it with a ten foot pole. Hell, I can finally use my M+ for playing live! Took many years to get there..
