Leaving the Traktor ecosystem after many years as our primary platform

Hi y'all.

I am sad to announce that my company has decided to remove the Traktor ecosystem from our business plan effective immediately. While I have been a heavy supporter of Traktor and NI as a whole for 20+ years, we now realize that other companies are building better tools and offerings that match more with the direction that we see the DJ industry is going in 2024 and beyond. We've become tired of Traktor constantly lagging behind. There are other, more recent changes and issues with NI in general that have just pushed our business over the edge.

It is tough for me to let go of both the hardware and software, considering we have built our whole business around them. From Weddings and Parties, to Corporate events, to the training that we do in house, I can't say that Traktor and NI ever let us down, until now. The grass is never greener, I am aware, but there are certain pastures that NI just can't compete with anymore.

If anyone is interested in a used and very well cared for Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3 with the NI Flight Case, I have two of them for sale. One is up on eBay right now (ping me for the link if you'd like)

We're also moving on from Maschine +, but that is for a different forum.

I'd like to say thank you to all of the folks in this forum and all of the NI representatives who have supported me and my business throughout this time.

We will miss you Traktor.

This is another feature I miss a lot in Traktor, in addition to instant-gratification FX directly on the software (like FX pads on Pioneer controllers) instead of having to create complex controller mappings. Finally, a better controller mappings manager is also needed, with the ability to edit multiple mappings simultaneously (bulk editing) instead of painstakingly one by one, more modifiers, more modifier conditions, global modifiers that can be seen by all mappings, the ability to send controller initialization messages, etc. The current controller manager is like painting a house through the keyhole.

It certainly feels like an ecosystem ready to disappear. The lack of streaming service integration, PadOS software development and hardware compatibility stalling, and now the discontinuation of DJ 2 all point to a company wanting to get out of the DJ space.

    Perhaps they should open talks

The Plug-in Alliance sits in Langenfeld :P I think the Traktor team sits in Berlin.

I used traktor for about 20 years now. I thought that they will be back in business. I got S4 mk3 and now I am sorry for this decision. Not even for plus version with 4€ per month it's nothing done in looong time. I just said many time about what it's needed to be a decent up to date dj software so I am not gonna repeat myself. I also take the decision that this (S4mk3 + 2xF1) was the last investment in NI. Sorry... I waited to much for literally nothing.
