The classic problems: browser flickering

I got a new laptop, a small one...
32GB DDR5 4800MHz, Intel i9, 2x 1TB m2 nvme and still having the flickering problem.
We shouldn t blame "slow" laptops, but NATIVE INSTRUMENTS...

I agree but also there are issue (like this one) that are in the base code. Traktor needs to utilize more than 1.7 Ghz.

Well, you should think that 15 years (or more) would have been sufficient time to do something about that base code.

You would think that asking for a same bug fix for years will help get it fixed faster. But in reality, it is hard to fix issues like this and still have everything well optimized. And new OS updates that breaks your app are constantly getting in a way.

every day that a bug goes unfixed and people continue to use the program (just hating it a little every time the butt up against the issue) counts to some as another checkmark in the column that says "must not have been that bad, we can deprioritize it, it's not a showstopper". the problem with that mindset is that these are the things that make people not WANT to use the program, even if it's technically still possible.

i take it this issue of Browser flickering... affects mainly the s4 mk3 or is this crossing over onto other non NI based controllers?? is it also affecting the s5 as well?? gotta be frustrating waiting for the fix...
whats more is the annoying strobe affect.. hope no one has had a bout of epilepsy :-s
I would gather the s4 mk3 is still usable despite the browser flicker... i've seen a video with paper over the s4 mk3's screen to shroud the annoying strobe affect lol couldnt help but laugh
hopefully a fix is well on its way!!

It's not on controller displays, it's the browser in the software.
Here's a video from a couple of years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWjGBJxWpH0

S4 does not even have a browser.
Here is a very slowed down version of the problem: https://streamable.com/9jor2b
On normal playback you can't read the text. Also while it happens it blocks for controller inputs.

Another thing is it interrupts browser navigation, potentially resulting in the wrong tracks being loaded (and played).

I asked support about the issue. In their reply, they said: "This is still a (known) issue that is being worked on."
And suggested a few few ways to minimize the problem:
• Preferably use playlists in their original order (sorted by the #-column)
• Avoid playing off large playlists, the collection, the iTunes library, filtered by a search-string
• Avoid playing of Beatport or Beatsource Search results when not sorted in original order - the ongoing stream of incoming search results will make your view constantly flicker
• Create a dedicated playlist for the search and use that one instead

They said the same around Halloween ... 2022

maybe they could at least put a disclaimer in the manual to warn people that some of the program's features are not to actually be used, like sorting the browser

Or better yet, use another software instead of Traktor...🤣🤣🤣
