Latest (V.14): Instant Doubles, 8 Hotcues, customizable Mixer, Phase Meter, Stem/Remix Deck support (Superknobs), Beatcounters, dynamic Vinyl Break, Browser Mode, Scrolling Titles, custom Beatjump Size, custom BPM Adjustment Size, expanded custom setup, screen feedback for every new feature, optional overmapping support for up to 3 different overlays and 2 different deck combinations for up to 2 devices.
As has been suggested elsewhere, the new X1MK3 was in need of some coding love.
PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY:
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Before applying any of the ideas and files i am hoping to collect in this thread, make sure to make a safety copy of the complete qml-folder of the Traktor software, so you have the original files as a fallback in case of, you know, failure. Do not move the qml folder. Copy it. The original files not overwritten by the mod files are necessary.
After that, all the files contained in the archive replace the original files. Drop the modded qml-folder on top of the original qml-folder in the 'Traktor Pro 4/Resources64' folder of the program.
Note for macOS: You will need to replace, one by one, some (and only some, not all) of the original qml files with the updated qml files from the zip archive.
To do that you will need to right-click on the Traktor app (in the Applications folder) and then select "Show package contents". From there, go to the qml folder. The file structure is identical to the file structure inside the zip archive, so the files should be easy to locate and replace.

X1MK3: Community Performance MOD Version 14 TP 4.5.0+ :
All new features listed below. Optional features can be accessed in Setup Mode. Complete compatibility with the S4MK3 Community Performance Mod.

- Sync [Hold]: Does NOT toggle SYNC, so you are free to hold the button to just check current track BPM on the screen, without having to adjust the BPM in order to NOT toggle SYNC.
- Sync [Hold] + Nudge (Arrow) Buttons [Tap/Hold]: Nudge (dedicated override)
- Sync [Hold] + Loop [Turn]: Adjust Tempo by +/- 0.01 BPM (or custom value)

This will override any functions you set in the X1 panel for buttons with the numbers (1-2 and 3-4) and turn them into dedicated Hotcue buttons 1-4 (and 5-8 when toggle is active). This works for each deck separately, just like it did with the X1Mk2.

- Shift [Hold] + Play [Tap]: Toggle Gridlock. Grid must be unlocked to make use of the Beatgrid controls (see above)

Duplicate Deck Features, aka Instant Doubles, available in Browser Mode:
- Hotcue Buttons (numbers 1-4): Duplicate Deck.
Use the numbers buttons to first select the source deck, then the target deck. Source deck can also be unselected again.
LED feedback for Instant Doubles explained:
- Black (not lit): No selection possible for Remix/Live decks.
- Dimly lit: deck is either not playing or empty.
- Brightly lit: deck is playing. If you select this deck as a target deck, it will interrupt play, so be careful.
- Blinking: selected source deck.
Alternate Mixer Overlay Features:
- Every Knob and button is fully customizable in Setup (below).
New Stem/Remix Controls:
- Shift [Hold] + Loop [Turn]: Select Capture Source (Screen Feedback)
- Shift [Hold] + Loop [Push]: Toggle Quantization
- Shift [Hold] + Loop [Push] + Loop [Turn]: Adjust Quantization (Screen Feedback)
- Additional Quantization Display on Screen when holding SHIFT
- Capture Source and Quantization do not work when LegacyEncoder + Beatjump/Move is set for SHIFT+Loop Encoder. You have to select Key Adjust for the SHIFT+Loop Encoder. This is done automatically if you use Browser Mode.
- When in Mixer Overlay, the top FX Unit Assignment (Arrow) buttons will let you switch between Mixer and Stem/Remix controls.
- Knobs control Stem/Remix channel Volume/Filter as Superknobs: Turn left to control Volume, turn right to control High-Pass Filter. Screen feedback included.
- Buttons control Stem/Remix channel Mute (FX Send with Shift [Hold]).
- Remix Beat Counter now replaces the superfluous Time Display.
New Transport LED feedback:
- Both Play and Cue LED's now have CDJ-style CuePoint blinker. Hotcues have more visible colours …
- Play: Green (default)
- Sync: Cyan (default)
- Shift [Hold] + Sync (Master): Red (default)
- Cue: Yellow (default)
- Hotcue (Load): Yellow (default)
- Hotcue (Fade-In): Dark Orange (default)
- Hotcue (Fade-Out): Red (default)
Additional Features:
- Centre Mode Screen: In Mixer Overlay, the top line will show Main Levels and Limiter.
- Browser View indicator: SHIFT button LED will blink when in Browser View.
- Screen Support: When in Browser View, the deck screens display what you can do with the encoders. At the bottom of the right screen is a preview deck strip for scrolling through. The words 'Preview Player' will blink when the player is running a track. The FX screens also reflect the changes made to the Mixer Overlay. In addition, all new Mixer, FX and Setup function have Screen Feedback.
- Easy Setup Access: Hold down MODE button for 1 second to re-enter the setup mode to select decks, FX units and custom feature toggles (see below) for the X1.
- Easy Deck Switch: Double-Tapping the MODE button switches between Deck selection (e.g. AB) and alternate Deck selection (e.g. CD).
Customizable Features (SETUP):
- The Setup Overlay (when you start/load the X1 mapping) can be accessed by holding the MODE button for 1 second and provides custom toggles on 4 setup pages you can cycle through by tapping the MODE button.
- The FX screens will show the name of the custom toggle activated when the buttons (L1 to R4) are pressed. Knob [Turn] will also show button toggle info on FX display screen without changing the settings.
Setup Page 1 (Custom Mixer):
- Different parameters can be assigned to the same Knob/Button (see notes).
- L1 to L4 assigns Equalizers (High, Mid, MidLow, Low) and Kill Buttons to the 4 pairs of mixer controls.
- R1: Volume (and Cue Monitor) Assignment.
- R2: Gain (and Cue Monitor) Assignment.
- R3: MixerFX Assignment.
- R4: Block MIXER Overlay: blocks the Mixer Overlay completely, jumping only between FX overlays when using the MODE button.
Colour code:
- The assignment to one of the four knobs is colour coded. Hold SHIFT to assign the layer(s) the parameter controls (also colour coded).
- You can assign multiple parameters to the same knob on the same layer. If you assign both layers (SHIFT+notSHIFT) to a parameter, all parameters using the same knob will switch to both layers and vice versa.
Knob Assignment: Blue (Knob 1), WarmYellow (Knob 2), LightOrange (Knob 3), Red (Knob 4).
Layer: White (no layer), Yellow (non-shift layer), Dark Orange (shift-layer).
Notes (and exceptions):
- EQs combined with MixerFX and/or Gain only goes from 0.0 to 0.5 (no boost) for EQ, boost for gain and MixerFX HPF.
- EQ combined with Volume reaches 100% Volume at middle position while EQ still have boost.
- Volume combined with MixerFX and/or Gain reaches 100% Volume at middle position with a boost for gain and Mixer FX HPF.
- Combos of several EQs simply make all EQs selected go from 0-100.
- Volume and Gain parameters will have MonitorCue button next to it.
- If MixerFX is the only parameter assigned to a knob using both layers, the SHIFT layer button lets you cycle through MixerFX types.
Setup Page 2 (Browser, Deck Switch, Beat Counter/Time Display):
- (L1) Maximize When Browsing: Activates FullscreenBrowser (Traktor GUI) for 1 second when browsing in X1 Legacy Encoder Mode. Connects BrowserView (X1) and FullscreenBrowser (Traktor GUI) states when Browser Mode option is active.
- (L2) Activate Browser Mode on Shift (Tap): Does just that.
- (L3) Minimize Browser After Loading Track: Only available when Browser Mode has been selected.

- (R1) Cycle through Display: Time/Beats → RemaingTime/BeatsToCue → Loop
- (R2) Toggle Beats Display: Replaces Time display.
- (R3+R4) Reduce/Increase Phrase Length: If you set Phrase Length to 1, Beats To Cue will have the format [Bars].[Beats].
Setup Page 3 (Miscellaneous, Effects):
- (L1) Single Cue Monitor: Makes it so that activating Cue Monitor for one Channel will deactivate it for the other three.
- (L2) Switch MUTE/FX SEND (SHIFT Layer): Switches the MUTE and FX SEND layers in Stem/Remix Sample Overlay.
- (L3) Invert MixerFX LED: This option sets LED to Off (Bright), On (Dim), like a KILL button.
- (L4) Phase Meter Pop-Up: This activates the optional pop-up phase meter on phase changes.
- (R1) Custom Overmapping Modifier Condition: activates the optional overmapping modifier conditions for the three different Overlays and deck combinations to support custom overmapping (see below in the next section). It has three settings.
- (R2) FX Assignment Buttons Focus On FX Units: when this is active, the FX Assignment arrows (→/←) will focus on the FX Unit below, selecting deck A (←), B (→), C (SHIFT+←) and D (SHIFT+→).
- (R3) Link Active FX Units To Active Decks: FX Unit combination will aways correspond to Deck combination (for example decks C/A will correspond to FX Units 3/1) even when switching decks.
- (R4) Block Secondary FX Overlay: blocks the secondary FX Overlay completely, jumping only between the primary FX Overlay and Mixer Overlay when using the MODE button.
Setup Page 4 (Transport, Tempo):
- (L1) CueAndPlay (CUP) instead of CUE: Changes the functionality of the CUE button.
- (L2) Hotcue Toggle (for Hotcues 5-8): Will turn REV button into a dedicated Hotcues 5-8 toggle. This will override any functions you set in the X1 panel for buttons with the numbers (1-2 and 3-4) and turn them into dedicated Hotcue buttons 1-4 (and 5-8 when toggle is active). This works for each deck separately, just like it did with the X1Mk2.
- (L3+L4) Reduce/Increase BeatJump Size: Settings are 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, LoopSize (default). This is the size of any beatjumps when no loop is active. When LoopSize is selected, beatjump size is equal to loop size, as was standard before.
- (R1+R2) Reduce/Increase BPM adjustment size: for Sync [Hold] + Loop [Turn]
- (R3+R4) Reduce/Increase BPM adjustment size: for Sync [Hold] + Loop [Hold] + Loop [Turn]
Custom BPM adjustment sizes: Settings go from 0.01 bpm to 1.00 bpm for both control variants.
…
Custom Overmapping Support for all three overlays and all deck combinations:
- This feature only works when activated (see Setup options above) and has three settings: OFF, 1 X1 or 2 X1s.
- If you select 1 X1, you can use deckswitch, which will set the sample page selector for the unused deck combination to page 1, allowing you to have different commands for each deck combo.
- If you select 2 X1s, you have to have complementary deck combination for the 2 devices. Both devices have to have selected the 2 X1s option!
- Switching Overlays (FX Overlay 1, FX Overlay 2, Mixer/STEM Overlay) or entering Setup will switch the value of Remix Deck A or Remix Deck B Sample Page Selector.
- As long as Decks A & B are not actually Remix Decks, this has no consequences whatsover for the deck. You can use the value of the page as a modifier condition (sample page selector) to override the FX controls separately for each X1 overlay using overmapping assignments.
Modifier Condition 'Sample Page Selector' details (note: the layer designations have shifted from previous versions):
- Page 1 - Setup mode, or any layer with the Custom Modifier option set to OFF)
- Page 2 - FX Overlay 1
- Page 3 - FX Overlay 2
- Page 4 - Mixer Overlay
- Deck Assignment: Remix Deck A - for deck combinations a_b, a_c or c_a (deck A must be involved)
- Deck Assignment: Remix Deck B - for deck combinations c_d or b_d (deck D must be involved)
More notes:
If you use two X1 and both use the custom modifiers, device #1 must use deck combo a_b, a_c or c_a (which use sample page selector for deck A), device #2 must use deck deck combo b_d or c_d (which use sample page selector for deck B).
- The setting '1 X1' will reset both modifer to value 'page 1' when entering setup, and will reset the currently used modifer (only) to 'page 1' when switching decks.
- The setting '2 X1' will only reset the currently used modifer (not both) to 'page 1' when entering setup, and will not reset any of them when switching decks.
I put in a safety trigger that will preserve the currently used modifier value of device #1, in case device #2 resets device #1's modifier using any of the two triggers i just listed (and vice versa).
This will also allow you to use a trick to circumvent unwanted LED disruptions when pressing SHIFT → Add 'sample page selector' command to the SHIFT button for deck A or B (or both), value: page 1, override: NO (uncheck box). Do it twice, the second command using inverted (check box) - It will make the safety
trigger activate each time.
