About the midi Sel. Note Gate
As a newby it took me about 3 hours to figure out why the Sel. Note Gate in Reaktor didn't work. It turned out that the Selected note is written as C-2 in the Function menu. But it only works when it's written as C2.
Is there any reason why the default is written as C-2 instead of C2?

It sounds to me like the lowest key on your controller is C2 (MIDI note 48) rather than C-2 (MIDI note 0)--is that so?
The hyphen in "C-2" (etc.) isn't just for looks, it denotes a negative value; i.e., C-2 is a four octaves lower than C2. That's why you can't enter C-3--it's outside the gamut of the MIDI spec.

This is mayhaps a default value only?!!

Yes but it would make more sense if the default value is valid. Now it suggests you should write notes this way.

Or it is a simple coder mistake who knows a lot of codes but has/had no musically pratice.
This programm is an older one from 1996 or so.

This is a midi keyboard input module....C-2 is the lowest key number from a keyboard,it works too but you have to lower the octaves on your midi keyboard to get there.

Yes I know it's a midi keyboard command. It does work, but only after I found out that I had to change the input field in Reaktor from C-2 to C2.

C-2 should work too,it's just that nobody goes that low when playing a keyboard so usually the displayed key on your keyboard will go from C1 to C5 depending on the size of course.

When you create a new Sel Gate node it shows C-2 in the function window. That's not working. Changing it to C2 does work. I just tried to type C-3 in the same field but the input field doesn't accpt that value. You can only type C3. But the strange thing is that you can type C-2. So there's something strange going on.
For now it's no problem anymore as I got it working. It's just that it took me three hours to figure it out.

These values are midi note numbers going from 0 to 127 which is represented as C-2 to G8,a midi keyboard covers all these values,if you have a small midi keyboard you usually have a button to go lower or higher in octaves so you can go from C-2 to G8.
C-3 doesn't exist so of course you cannot type it.
So i am not sure what you mean by "not working"...what is your input method? You use a midi keyboard? What key do you press?
This midi module will only respond to the note you put in the value so if you type C2 it will only respond when you press C2 on your midi keyboard,if you type A3 it will only respond if you press A3 on your midi keyboard,it is a single note midi trigger.

Thank you for clarifying this. I didn't know this difference betwee C-2 and C2. My limited knowledge caused the confusion. So the three hours fiddling learned me something after all.
