BPM does not appear to be embedded in the Group/Kit Preset files so if you wanted to see the BPM, you would have to change the name of the preset after determining the BPM. (right click kit in browser, rename, rescan)

Kits don't have BPMs though. The patterns have BPMs. Besides, a kit and/or pattern is not fixed at a certain BPM.

Maybe we should create a joke here. A man walks into a music store and sees a beautiful drum kit. He asks the salesman "What BPM is this drum kit?". 😄

To answer the OP no, you cant know the BPM beforehand, it only shows up in the Pattern names.

This was true maybe 4 years ago but it has changed and it depends on the expansion.

Some have sliced drum parts and instruments, if the BPM is not the expected things will play really, really messed up. The Pure Drip Expansion immediately comes to mind with chops of two hi-hats together, drum rolls, several percussion hits in one sample, drum fills, etc...

Ah OK, I've not experienced that yet (although I'm only 3 expansions away from a full set). Ideally, samples that have a tempo should be stretched via the Audio plug in though IMO.
