I want a quality grand sound, what's available that's compatible with the Machine Plus?
In standalone mode? Nothing (at least officially, there's user solutions / workarounds listed by others in this thread)
What you get is what is listed on the product page under Sounds:
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/maschine/production-systems/maschine-plus/sounds/
Note that the orange "+" Is what determines what works in standalone mode.
For the desktop/computer mode, you get The Gentleman, it's not grand tho... It's upright.
Is sampling an option for you?
Maschine has an auto-sampler now. You can sample the desired sound source. For isntance, you can sample vst grand piano you like and use it standalone on M+ as a sound.
Does this work for your case?
yeah thanks I never thought of that !!!
A good resource for pianos on the M+ is to use the sample libraries from PianoBook that are in Kontakt’s .nki format. It doesn’t have as much flexibility as a full blown Kontakt instrument but they sound really good. I like the claustrophobic piano.
You can check everything out here:
https://www.pianobook.co.uk/packs/
Are they even working in Maschine+ Kontakt version?
Did you try? How do you import them?
Ya it definitely works I use several of them that I’ve downloaded from there. You copy the downloaded folder to the M+’s /User Content folder and you’ll see them in the browser and it loads up Kontakt. Some of them have very basic controls you can use but I generally use the M+’s built-in stuff to to shape the sound more.
Thank you for the info. I never knew you could add nki instruments to Maschine+ Kontakt.
And probably they don’t know it too, since they don’t advertise this useful feature…
Tomorrow I’ll surely try it!
Have you ever thought of making a thread to inform other users about this?
More infos and options referenced here:
and here
No I haven’t thought of making a specific thread for that but maybe I will. I’ve got some other libraries I wanna play around with and see if I can get working first
