Oh, you mean Mono in 3rd Page of the Slice Menu.

Tbh I never noticed that either, apparently, it's a time-saving option, according to the manual: "The Sample Slicer Mono option when activated automatically sets the Voice and Choke Group of all sample slices to 1 when slicing to a Group."

Not relevant to OP's issue of Maschine not actually having real 'Banks' (Like MPC's for example have) but good to know, this will def save me some time as I've always did it manually.

BTW: it seems it is working also when assigning to a single pad. The “instrument” is set to monophonic, therefore…no overlapping

As from my tests, that Mono at page 3 automatically does all the typical procedures for all slices:

sets polyphony to 1, and

all pads from that group go to Choke group 1.
