Beatport Streaming tracks cut out after playing for a few seconds.

I have tried everything to cure this problem.

Beatport link tracks load fine. but as soon as you play the track it cuts out after 3-4 seconds and the track dispears from the screen.

Offline locker does exactly the same thing if connected to the internet.

Turn off wifi and offline locker tracks work fine.

So this must be some sort of issue with streaming or cache.

Any help fixing this so i can stream again would be greatly appreciated.

Between us, off topic, i really don't understand why any serious DJ would like to use music in a horrible quality, from an unreliable service (just imagine what will happen to your reputation if server go down, while you play on an event for 2000 people) with bad reputation among artists community (not a choice, but a necessary evil for many of us). Anyway...

Beatport is an online service, its a website after all. So, the way i see it is, that many of the problems that people report, are clearly network related and have nothing to do with Traktor. In most cases the problem is DNS related. So, what you can do is:

Clear your local DNS cache to make sure that you grab the most recent cache that your ISP has. For Windows - (Start > Command Prompt > type "ipconfig /flushdns" and hit enter).

Use an alternative DNS service other than your ISPs. Cloudflare, OpenDNS or Google Public DNS are excellent and free public DNS services.

Note: It may looks like a long shot but I have seen many posts with this subject and no one offered a clear solution, ever.

It is a lot of fun and a very easy way to preview and decide on tracks before buying them if you have a live gig that requires better quality.

Not everyone is a professional Dj, Ibwould almost bet that most the money going into Beatport, Traktor, Serato, etc. Is from enthusiasts.

You should try Link out and see if it can work into your preparation or small parties with friends, it is so much fun to just open up Traktor and start playing with a playlist I made on my phone at work. And also even listen to the tracks at work or in my car.

Make sure that only one computer is linked If thahis is the case at all.. If you are logged into a multiple and have both running with the same license, It will result in just that.

The mobile application might interfere as well. I have tried to use the mobile application while logged in with Traktor and it wouldn't let me. The web based application seems to work with either Traktor or the mobile application running.

But Beatport says you can have upto 5 devices connected?

    Whats the deal there?

Tried logging out of every device and then logging back in with just the problematic device.

    No change.

Tracks self destruct in 4 seconds or less.....

    The saga continues

    Flushed DNS as suggested.

    Problem persists......

Sure, yes mate, i agree that it could be fun for many people and that not everybody is a pro DJ!

However, at least in my case, nothing of what you said applies. :-)

First, i use (and support) Bandcamp, which is a service very fair to the artists.

Second, Beatport is too commercial for my taste and to find something interesting there, it is extremely rare, in my case.

Third, i rarely buy music. And when i do, is usually to support a friend artist, even if i already have his music. This is because i play exclusively old school stuff (which i have already bought in the 90's and 00's) and because i play mostly unreleased and rare material, which i got from artists or other DJ's, during my travels. As for new releases, usually the labels in my genre or even some of the artists too, send me copies before they release them, to ask me for my opinion or for test in the dancefloor.

Fourth (and as the result of all the above), on parties, events and festivals, i rely exclusively on my huge collection that is already on my hard discs, and in case i need something extra, i just rip my old DAT tapes or CD's. I know i am an exception but in my case, i really do not need any kind of streaming service. :-)

I think that means you can play on separate computers. But only one at a time. I have 3 separate computers I use.

Ok strike that, it does say 5 devices and 4 concurrent streams? Strange I can't use the mobile at the same time. But the mobile app isn't Link.

You may want to check your internet provider? I seem to remember some providers would block or slow down depending on music or video streaming. I could be wrong there, I just remember it from years ago.

I saw something about deleting the Beatport cache, to force it to reset. I believe it is somewhere in the Traktor folder.

Also check to make sure Traktor and Traktor services are added to access the firewall.

Try downloading the Beatport application on your phone and check to see if your subscription is working on the phone also? If not then definitely get a hold of Beatport support.

Is it possible to try and connect via ethernet and see if it works direct instead of wifi? Maybe the router is somehow the issue?
