Newscool & presets/snapshots recall by midi is... hectic.

Hi there,

macOS Ventura 13.3.1, M1 + Reaktor 6.5

AUv2 version works fine for recalling by MIDI.

VST3 doesn't.

I checked the different elements in the ensemble (and actually, I didn't modify it but was just checking...) .. eveything seems ok. Recall by MIDI is checked.

The plugin receives MIDI when I send a program change (midi in led is blinking)... But it doesn't recall anything.

Any advices ?

Newscool instrument isn't active for Recall by Midi on default.

Life is active and the ensemble.

AUv2 version of Reaktor 6 running it is active Recall by Midi on default. But the VST version behaves differently (curiously)

I checked what you advice, checked the checkbox, same behaviour.

I used it for my performance ALPHA a couple of years ago and it was ok.

Maybe, I'm confused with the process of saving.

    I tweak life (funny words :-) ), I save a preset.

    I tweak Newscool, I save a preset.

If I send a program change, how the ensemble process it ? Does it take it and change life's preset + newscool preset ?

    Apparently, the problem seems bigger.

I logged this on Ableton forums too : https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?t=247288

The same ensemble running with the standalone version: no problem

The same ensemble running with the AUv2 as I worte, no problem.

It is not only Newscool at all, it concerns all plugins I got, basically 😓

I reported it on Ableton side.

Actually, as explained, the ensemble works very fine with Max 8 (within the object vst~) or with other DAWs

Here is a video in which I just fire plain program change message from a max for live device to an ensemble running in Reaktor AUv2 version (working as expected) and Reaktor VST3 version (doesn’t work) :

I’d need VST3 as I need midi outputs from the plugin, which is not in the AU standard, unfortunately 😥
