Retain jog wheel mode on NI S4mk3 after switching back and forth between decks

I frequently turn off the top plate sensitivity so that I can nudge from any part of the jog wheel and also not risk grabbing the track playback. However, if I do that on deck A, switch to deck C and switch back to deck A, deck A is no longer in that mode. Even if I switch C into that mode before going back to deck A, deck A still loses the mode. It makes it very challenging to work with 4 decks without making a mistake.
