Hey ColB I'm curious, did you do this testing on the original Euro Reakt Block or just on my Circlet Block? Maybe the problem was because of my implementation...

I had a quick look at the code Euroreakt block when it was first mentioned - always good to see if there's something new to learn. It looked too simplified to be correct. So I checked it a bit more thoroughly. I wasn't going to say anything because it's an old Block. But for new stuff, better to not propagate wrong code :)

hmmmm can't really justify this but the last time i looked over it in depth i got the impression that it was more a low resolution approximation of the relevant circuit behavior than a kind of faithful model

Ah, ok. The Voltage drop is not linear, it follows a piecewise curve. However, the curve doesn't change dynamically - is that what you mean?

A more faithful model would require much heavier calculation. You're basically doing circuit simulation in real time at that point.

Problem there is that the discretised ODEs need to be oversampled, and they are already fairly heavy duty:

"The oversampling factor required depends on the input signals. In general, higher signal levels will require a higher oversampling factor. If a low oversampling factor with arbitrary signals is desired, implicit or semi-implicit methods [9], which possess better numerical stability, must be used to solve the ODEs. However, they are not as easy to implement as explicit methods."
