What is needed for Expansions

Long time home studio guy but new to the NI world. I purchased a new LaunchKey MK III for Xmas and got all the free NI stuff included such as Komplete Kontrol, Mikro Prism, Reaktor 6. What does one need to use Expanison packs that are purchased? From what I read, they will work in just about any DAW, but do you need to still purchase Komplete 13 Select, Maschine or Battery?

    here is a vid on using expansions... They do come with Maschine Kits and Battery Kits, but if you do not own either of those products, you can still use the loops and One Shots.

    Thank you. That is what I sort of figured. However, they do have a special going on right now between Izotope and NI whereas with a loyalty discount, I can get the full Komplete 13 for $199 which is tempting.
