Best place to store 3rd party Kontakt libraries?
Hi Ni people,
I’m using Logic Pro on an intel 2020 IMac and I need to know where on the Mac drive is the correct place for my Kontakt Sample Library folder to live on my Mac SSD that contains my Spitfire/ VSL/ Ni / Project Sam Kontakt samples?
I used to have it on the desktop but Apple say that’s not the best place for it.
also I am restoring my Kontakt library from a Time Machine b/up so I will need to create a folder to copy the library over to but where?
or is it better to always store Kontakt library on an external drive? I have a 2TB drive on the iMac
Any help much apreciated

Yes don't put it in desktop or any iCloud location as it slows performance immensely - same with documents if that folder is setup to be in the cloud
Ideally put them on an external SSD
Otherwise if you have disk space NI put their libraries in /Users/Shared so that seems a safe enough place - I'd setup a sub folder for each of the developers

The statement means that in Kontakt, a software application, you have the ability to define a custom folder where you can store your third-party libraries. This feature is beneficial if you prefer to keep your libraries in a different location than the default one, or if you have limited storage space on your system drive. To set a custom library folder, you need to access Kontakt's preferences or options menu and locate the "Libraries" section. Within that section, you can add a new folder location or select an existing folder where you want to store your third-party libraries. By specifying this custom folder, Kontakt will use it as the designated location for your third-party libraries instead of the default location.https://whatslinkhub.com/

Kontakt allows you to specify a custom library folder where you can store your third-party libraries. This can be helpful if you want to keep your libraries separate from the default location or if you have limited space on your system drive. To set a custom library folder, open Kontakt's preferences or options menu and navigate to the "Libraries" section. There, you can add a new folder location or specify an existing folder where you want to store your third-party libraries.

Kontakt player is just plain trash. It inaccurately routes stereo channels to mono and mono to stereo (with no way to bypass or fix it). It is overloaded with poor GUI design, poorly labeled "functions", and buggy/laggy performance due to what appears to be sloppy engineering. Kontakt might be good for developers who are unable to afford to write their own GUI, but the user suffers when we're forced to use this garbage middleware to access good plug-ins. I've been stuck with Kontakt for years because the developers I love continue to use Kontakt. I've still never found anything good from a user's perspective in using Kontakt. It's all plainly bad. Avoid Kontakt if you are able. Years of bad experiences with Kontakt have caused me to become physically nauseous when I hear their name spoken aloud. I know I can't be alone in my disgust for this disaster of a product line.

It has a few good features imo, but overall, gotta agree. For me at this point is more of a force of habit id say
