Hi!

Im new to Traktor, so excuse me if this is an silly question..

I record vinyl in to FLAC files. The FLAC file is named "Artist - Title". Is there any way that Traktor Pro 3 can automatically categorize the Title and Artist in the Track Collection, or do I have to do this manually.

    You set up "Actions" in Yate to do whatever you wish. I have actions that will take a filename such as "Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up.mp3" and populate the Artist and Title field from the filename. In fact, I have loads of "Actions" that also clean up these fields so that my primary tag fields like Artist and Title are consistent, don't have random spaces, characters or other unwanted junk.

    Yate takes a bit of learning and setting up but once you get it, you can do so much with it.

    directly for traktor I see no way, cause you record the Vinyl by yourself, if I understand you right

    and as Traktor didn´t import the structure from the filename, you have to tell Traktor what Title and Artist they have

    maybe there´s something outthere (Tag-Editors) which can generate it from the file-name, hopefully, because I also started the same way with my huge Vinyl-Collection but stoped for other reasons

    looking forward to a hint from someone else 🤗

    I use this one for batch editing mp3 tags. It can read filenames and use it to fill in the tag sections.

    @Sûlherokhh Thanks.. My files are all 24bit/96kHz FLAC files- does it work for those as well?

    I think they use the same tags, but i could be mistaken. Since i have audio file types of all sorts i assume it will work; so far mp3tag hasn't let me down.

    MP3Tag will not let you down.

    Anybody here not using it is an amateur. 😉

    Does anybody know if there is a free version of the MP3TAg for Mac?

    Yate (pronounced "Yah-Tay") by 2ManyRobots is an incredible Tag Editor for Mac. I would go as far as saying it blows MP3Tag out of the water. Not free, but the best $20 I've spent.

    @ilove1981 Thanks,

    So, my FLAC files does not have any meta data, since they are sound files from ripped vinyl. They do have a name, eg. "John Cutler - Its Yours", which is the artist and title of the song.

    Im not sure I understand what Yate does. Does it feed the file with meta data, consisting of artist name and title of the track, so that when I load this in to Traktor, the artist and titles are correct for each track in Traktor?

    Do I understand this correctly?
