Use Maschine+ as controller for Komplete Kontrol plugin

Dear community,

I recently purchased a Maschine+ thinking I would be able to (also) use it as a controller for Komplete Kontrol VST. I just realized that Maschine+ is not even listed as a controller for Komplete Kontrol :(

Am I missing something? Are there any plans to include Maschine hardware as controller options for Komplete Kontrol software?

Thank you very much,

Santi

Why not just opening instruments inside of Maschine software instead ok KK? You don’t have to use all Maschine functionalities: you just open the instrument you want in one group and don’t touch anything else. There you have your Maschine HW controlling instruments with all the functionalities like Scales, chords, note repeat,…

Or set Maschine to midi mode and use it to control KK. But you’ll have to assign things to its knobs etc etc

Yeah but Maschine sucks for controlling instruments if you want to use any midi expression

Thanks for the ideas @LostInFoundation . I was thinking the same "opening instruments inside of Maschine software instead ok KK". I've encountered two things about this option:

    (1) What happens if I have many instances of Maschine software in my DAW? Wouldn't it take too much unnecessary CPU resources? even if I use only one group per Maschine instance?

    (2) Maschine software doesn't update automatically when I switch among different tracks in my DAW. So the flow is kind of slow, every time I want to set Maschine to a different track I need to click on the icon in the GUI of the Maschine plugin... Maybe if this automatic, like when Maschine plugin is selected, Maschine hardware takes control of the selected instance, then it would be nice. This is the case with KK hardware, right?

I agree that KK is surely better…but if he has only Maschine as a controller, the choice is between Maschine or…Maschine 😂

In this case maybe better to use KK software with Maschine HW in midi mode, you’re right

But if I use Maschine HW in midi mode I won't be able to see the parameter names on Maschine, right...? Might as well just use any MIDI controller then :(

If you have any other midi keyboard yes, it will probably be better. Unless you really like playing on pads instead of keys

And what about recording automation curves in my DAW using the 8 pre-mapped knobs in Maschine?

If you use Maschine in controller mode with the pre mapped knobs they will communicate with the Maschine software.

If you want them to control something in your DAW, it must be in Midi Mode (but you can switch from the 2 modes with the push of a button)

Right, I understand this. What I wanted to do is to select virtual instruments presets with Maschine, then record patterns with an external keyboard (or the pads) and also record the movements of the pre-mapped knobs. But it seems it's not possible... Maybe I need to sell my unit and get a KK S series instead :(

You shoukd be able to do that. You should be able to play and record with an external keyboard or the Maschine Plus pads. You can also record movement / automation within the Maschine plug-in.

Hi @Jeremy_NI , thanks for your reply. I can record inside the Maschine plug-in, but not in the DAW that's hosting it, right?

@Santi I'm afraid I don't understand the last question, you should be able to record audio inside the Maschine plug-in and in your DAW.
