Luna and komplete kontrol 88 key
Trying out some of the UAD synths…. Set one of the knobs on kk to cc 74 which is the cutoff in the UAD synths…. Nothing happens… however the knob on Mashine set to cc74 works just fine….this is the stuff that keeps me awake at night.

Don’t bother trying to map these with Midi CC they all have fixed mappings and Komplete Kontrol enables much higher resolution control anyway based on host automation. I added templates and NKS banks for the entire UADX Creative Collection to the NKS User Library a few months ago that enable comprehensive control and browsing from the keyboards

Is the S88 in midi mode or controller mode?
The first one sends midi message to any plugin. The second is for controlling NKS plugins (UAD are not NKS)

How would I find which mode it’s in?

They are using the templates I made

Ooooh got it 👍🏼
It was not specified

It wouldn’t be -this is a user led project to make up for the fact that so many developers don’t support NKS

Wow, what would us idiots do without folks like you… fabulous. Very grateful.

I meant it wasn’t specified by the OP that he was using your NKS user version. He could be using S88 in midi mode to control Luna.
I follow constantly the thread about NKS User Library and I take the occasion to thank you for all the work you and others put in it to provide NKS functionalities to other users 👏🏼

one more question.... got the zip files downloaded and extracted.... now what do I do with them? They don't open in the KK application and I can't drag and drop them into the templates column

This is from the txt file in the root of the User library
Where do I put these files?
Put the image thumbnail files in:
\Users\Shared\NI Resources\image\synthmaker\synthname (Mac)
\Users\Public\Documents\NI Resources\image\synthmaker\synthname (Windows)
Any problems with thumbnails not appearing make sure synth maker and synth name correspond exactly to how they appear in Komplete Kontrol but all lower case
Database (category and colour info) files go in:
\Users\Shared\NI Resources\dist_database\synthmaker\synthname (Mac)
\Users\Public\Documents\NI Resources\dist_database\synthmaker\synthname (Windows)
The NKS templates and user content files go in:
\Users\username\Documents\Native Instruments\User Content\synth name (Mac)
Documents/Native Instruments/User Content\synth name (Windows)
Then reopen KK and rescan the user database.
For Previews you need to add the folder named “.previews” inside the folder containing the specific bank of nksf presets they are for. You will need to turn on hidden files to see them though as any folder with a dot in front is designated an ‘invisible’ folder on Mac and I think on Windows too.
You will notice the Zips are all structured to guide you to the right locations
Once scanned in you can browse in the Komplete Kontrol software or from your keyboard using Controller mode - which comes up by default when Komplete Kontrol is running and your keyboard is connected to it
