Unresponsive keys

I have a brand new komplete kontrol S61 and there’s 3 keys that are unresponsive every other key works just fine but when I press those pacific keys no sound comes out, how does a brand new keyboard already have dead keys?

You can monitor the MIDI input with no music software on, as explained here: How to Monitor the Input of a MIDI Controller
If there is nothing happening when pressing these notes it's a hardware issue, you can get in touch with our hardware department here: https://bit.ly/NISupport_Hardware

Are you using it in midi mode or with Komplete Kontrol/Maschine/Kontakt?
Some libraries have some keys mapped to different things (sounds, articulations,…) and also have some keys left empty. If you are using NKS ready instruments, you should see by the colors light guide which keys are mapped to different things (and also which ones are empty, they have no light). Also by opening Kontakt or KK you can see the colored mapping.
If you are using it in Midi mode and keys are not working, it should be defective

I’m using machine have already went to midi preferences and checked input (komplete kontrol s61 mk2 port 1) and the sound comes from every other key also the colours on the keys that no sound are coming from are shown on the keyboard

Have you also tested it using the Komplete Kontrol software?

Just as one last test, because it sounds like it possibly is a fault with keys, if you use the Transpose button to shift the range do the dead keys stay with the same physical keys or does it move with the octave shift?

something still shifting octaves no sound but the light is on

Ok, so if the issue remains with the same keys then it sounds like a hardware problem. If you bought it from a store you should be able to make a video of hte issue and return it, otherwise you would have to contact NI and arrange for replacement
