[Feature Request] Maschine + 'On Device' Midi Implementation
Hi Is there any chance that midi learn, CC out implementation, and automation are going to be added 'on device' to Maschine + soon,
Love my Maschine but as a standalone device, I'd like to control external synths and modular equipment, I'm starting to use the device less and less and am seeing new products become more competitive.
I've used Maschine since version 1.0 and have waited patiently since May 2022 in hope of a small feature update adding better midi out implementation.
Thanks

Hi, MIDI CC automation towards external synths is already there in standalone via MIDI templates.

Hi Fabio, Thanks for your response, thats how I'm using it,
but as with other equipment, you should be able to learn a CC incoming or manually pick a cc and assign it to an encoder on the device, not have to go through the software, setup a template and then transfer to maschine, any tweaks required and you have to do the same over and over.
'defeats the whole point of it being a standalone device'.
Would be disappointed to sell device and find out its been implemented afterwards (A PM would do if forum posts are a problem)

YES, "They" should do a lot of things!
IMO MIDI Learning is currently buggy at MPC devices: https://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=215668
So what could be an alternative comparable to MPC or M+ if you sold your M+?

I added a 'feature request' tag to the post.
There is a chance yes, but "soon" I'd say no... Don't take this as an official answer tho.

Hi DeepThumb I'm not here to get into a debate on devices, I have 2 others in mind but will keep them off the forum out of respect.
I'm currently in two minds about whether to sell my maschine + (and subsequently Komplete software and Komplete Keyboard Mk2) its been a long time since a feature update was introduced, which is fine but needs change and i could do with better Midi control
Thanks

Comparable is difficult to define, but I consider Synthstrom Deluge a valid alternative. That's actually what I use instead of my M+ when I need better MIDI (such as MPE, to drive the Osmose). Internal effects and synth engine are definitely simpler but the workflow and the AD converters are very good, and you can make excellent music of this tool.

Akai Force is also a valid machine (no pun intended) and largely underestimated (maybe because of its “strange” form factor)

I heard that some prefer even Force over MPC. Well let's wait for Akai's OS 3.0. Hopefully this will be a game changer and not a culprit for new bugs and quirks. 😉

Hi nicknackers,
I understand your point. My approach is more AND not OR. Every box has its advantages and flaws. In my little eco system I use what makes fun for a special task, e.g. Elektron's Digitakt for sequencing other synths or boxes. However IMO Maschine / M+ Expansions shine in comparison to MPC's or Elektron's and so on.

I am one of them. I largely prefer Force over MPC.
When it is about 4x4, my mind functions in a “Maschine” way, MPC flow doesn’t really click with me and never did, even in the good old days when MPC was the only choice.
Force has almost all the strengths of MPC, but the “Ableton” flow really makes me work with it with more fluidity.
This plus the song arranger on the Force make my hands reach my Force waaaay more than my MPC Live 2, that gets turned on only in some rare occasions when I want to work in some places where I have no access to electricity and the built in speakers come in handy
