It was increased last week FYI so you can add more people now hopefully.

Tags should definitely be suggested based on what you type. If you type feature, you'll see the right tag is in fact feature request. Isn't it what you experience?

As for everyone creating tag, this would just be so messy I can't even imagine turning it on. We use tags quite heavily for reporting/tracking and if we had like 10 tags basically referring to the same thing, it would become super inefficient. We do add more quite often though.

We're keeping a close look at loading times and while it looks pretty good (according to numbers), it seems performance isn't consistent across browsers. We'll keep working on it and hopefully it improves over time.

I was talking about this. When I start to type and the list gets narrowed down to zero, I won't start over trying to guess what I should be using as a tag. If you stick to predefined tags, there needs to be an easier way to see which ones are supposed to fit in with what I typed I guess

How can we tell who's a product owner or just a forum member?

  • Matt_NI

Do you mean who actually bought specific software/hardware?

By definition here everyone has an NI product since you need an NI account to use the platform. We don't have specific roles like that if that's what you meant.

On the old forum you could see under the avatar "NI product owner" or "Forum member". One even had "Returning customer" lol and a few had some other things.

So everybody on this forum is a NI product owner?

By definition yes but I guess it depends what we mean by product owner. Every single person here has a NI account with software in them (freebies at least). Now if they use it or not is a different question.

That Tag was based on post count for the last few years, so it really didn't mean anything

I think it would help technical questions immensely if people had the chance to check a few boxes in their profile as to which platform they are on and which products they own.

In the Maschine forum alone it would help if I could see at a glance if someone writes from the point of view of a Maschine+, because that changes a lot about what kind of an answer makes sense

I think this place needs a place for quality tutorials. A place of learning. Like some kind of site where tutorials, tricks, manuals (!) and all the good stuff would be easily accessible. There are plenty of them already. I really like the Trutorials, for example. This has probably been asked before.

I really like the new forum. And now there has been more active touch on behalf of NI. It is good! Keep it up!

    Thanks for reading

@Impermanence Sounds like a great idea! Do you mean tutorials and manuals that are already on our website and YouTube? Or tips and tricks from folks in the forum?

@Paule Strange. I tried but didn't need to log in again after logging in on the Reaktor user library page. What's your browser + Are you on incognito?

@Kaiwan_NI I hope I am not hijacking @Impermanence's remark, but I personally think Reaktor needs a big effort tutorial and learning platform wise from NI:

    • Trutorial Seasons for Reaktor
    • a true effort in making videos and other media which enable people to grasp the power of the software
    • the basics of DSP so noobs can find an easy way in
    • An overhaul of the manuals. A significant moment for me was when the Reaktor forumites told me that a comprehensive reference of all the macros (or was it modules? Anyway...) was only part of the manuals up to version 5 and I had to rely on them to provide me with that reference. That is a sad state of the Reaktor manuals. I have read all of the manuals, btw.

If it hadn't been for the senior Reaktor forum hotshots I would have never gotten where I am in Reaktor, now (and compared to them it's next to nowhere - still I managed to bring very interesting projects to life that I would not have dared to come up with before Reaktor). You're lucky they are there for us noobs, but really, it should be NI themselves doing the heavy lifting.
