An update from Nick Williams, CEO of Native Instruments
I will continuously update this post as we learn more.
As per Jeremy_NI's post:
Any further updates will be shared through our official channels when appropriate.
Fender wants to grow the Studio Pro user base - offering NI content bundles would be a powerful incentive.
Fender would have an immediate expansion into the hardware controller market too.
Servco sees these strategic possibilities I'm sure.
Servco is an automotive specialist at the end of the day.
I still do not understand why they even have Fender considering their holdings:
Fender is the only one here - that makes zero sense at all.
Servco seems to be focused exclusively on US (and Australia) interests - so having them suddenly entering Germany (or even Europe) does not really compute.
Pretty sure whoever takes this deal over won't suddenly be able to uproot the entire company and move it to the US (or wherever the new parent is located).
It makes WAY more sense for someone like a Yamaha - who has decades of experience in Europe (and Germany specifically) to be a more logical fit. There is so much more to this than simply seeing a "expansion" possibility (like controllers).
For all we know - a new owner could walk in, buy the place and ditch everything and go in a totally different direction. Like say - make NI stuff work exclusively on Yamaha specific controllers - for example.
There are of course - endless possibilities - but I simply do not see an automotive player (based in Hawaii of all places) like Servco getting involved in this at all - especially with the debt restructuring that needs to happen ($$$$$).

Notice the Roland investment.. Servco own a 15% share.
And notice the Harley Davidson investment. They are into supporting "life style fun".. the stuff of man caves. Music, Guitars and Motorcycles.
And here is the new CEO of Fender, Bud Cole:
https://www.fender.com/pages/executive-announcement
He is extremely experienced with asian manufacturing.
And the future formula for most music creation companies will be hardware tied to a subscription service.
NI can bring that to the table for them.
Software development could stay centered in Germany.. as they are already doing with Studio Pro.
It is a great fit for all parties.
Still doubtful - but anything is possible.
Fender is still taking heat today over acquiring Presonus in 2021.
Can't imagine the discord and nasty vibes if they ended being part of this scene.
All to be revealed on or after April 27.
Please also remember that there’s buying to keep and to develop further and there’s buying to siphon IP and patents, ditch the workforce and to close shop/get rid of competition.
Another potential company (for good or for bad, I don’t know) which could absorb Kontakt, Expansions and maybe controllers is InMusic, Akai Pro is already getting NI expansions for MPC Live, it’s not far fetched to expand this to sampler engine and libraries.
This.
Interesting how some folks just see the end of this as some sort of an automatic “continuation” - where someone is just gonna walk up, cut a cheque and it’s business as usual.
They are not thinking about this from a business standpoint. I have been through two similar M&A style situations in my career and in both cases - products disappeared, careers disappeared and competitors disappeared.
These things are never cut and dry when big dollars are on the table.
My money is on Focusrite acquiring NI
An OK fit as well. We have some interesting times ahead!
I'd like to have 'boring' but safe instead. But i guess this year will be the top contender for 'in flux' for everyone in decades. ^^
I think Nestlè will buy NI, make sense because with Native's IP they can finally make a plug in for their hardware KitKat.
But the best that they do is only 4 channels. but its great inter face
But they will put too much sugar on all NKS products :(
Have a break
