The processor on my backup laptop isn't supported by Windows 11, so I'm thinking of fitting a SSD and installing Linux.
Does anyone know if Traktor Pro 4 will run on Linux? Well Native Access I suppose …
Traktor Pro 4 or Native Access are not officially supported on Linux., only Mac and Windows.
I thought have much. Now I'm off to grumble about NI colluding with Microdaft haha
On Linux you can use Mixxx.
Is there any work on the matter?
There's no plan to include support Linux on our products.
Linux support would be a godsend, Windows 11 for audio is a nightmare
Sound is generated on a computer by a sound card. This converts digital audio data into an analog signal🙂 What does Windows 11 have to do with this?
Or do you mean creating digital audio data?
Not sure if you are being serious or not. By that logic there would be zero latency ever just the conversion happening on the dac die. Sadly operating systems need to prioritise themselves first, lets ignore the issues that are windows audio and wasapi, and say you are using integrated driver level asio, you still don't get to bypass windows and its processes, and the drivers and their processes and busses. (don't even get me started on USB) Windows is a slog, I run my traktor on a dedicated windows 10 build that is air gapped from the net, about 70% of the drivers are disabled, the windows install is about 2gb including traktor. Windows 11 has so much going on that is creating latency, hell a patch just came out today trying to address file manager slow down issues, won't even get into the background AI and telemetry shit. I use windows because I have to for Ableton and traktor, but I would swap to linux in a heartbeat
Anyone who thinks that a company like NI would release its software for an operating system with a market share of less than 4% on desktop computers is, in my opinion, suffering from a loss of touch with reality.
And yes, I have been enjoying using Linux since 2004, but I am still realistic.
