I updated Circular on 11/14/25 to version 1.1.0, and inside Kontakt it now shows as engine version 1.5. After the update, every single one of my songs that uses Circular is suddenly out of tune.
These projects all played correctly before the update.
What I’m seeing now:
- MIDI notes that previously snapped to the selected scale/root now play the literal incoming pitch instead of the pre-update mapped pitch.
- The internal pitch mapping and scale quantizing logic has changed.
- Sounds that were in key before are now a semitone or more off, and the character of the harmonics, transpositions, and modulations is different.
- Moving MIDI notes doesn’t fix it, because the underlying pitch engine inside Circular is behaving differently.
- I changed nothing in the projects except opening them after installing Circular 1.1.0.
This update appears to have overwritten the KSP script for Circular and removed/altered the previous scale locking behavior, so older projects are loading the new engine logic and playing the wrong pitches.
Native Access does not offer any rollback or previous version option, so right now all my existing work is broken.
I need a lifeline, can NI to provide:
- A download link for the previous Circular library version (pre-update 1.1.0), or
- A rollback installer, or
- Confirmation that a hotfix is coming to restore the pre-update behavior.
This is affecting multiple in-progress songs and is extremely time-sensitive.
