About play series on maschine+ 2.1.0

I'm trying to understand what it means to have the Play Series on Maschine + in Standalone mode...
For instruments like Empire Breaks, where the content is primarily focused on kit e loop drums, what you can have in Standalone mode is in Keyboard mode:

From C1 onwards, the pads with 16 drum samples from the specific preset.
From C3 onwards, the 16 pattern loops from the loaded preset. (Audio loop no midi note to traspose in a patterns. As you can do in the Maschine software, by dragging the single plug-in pattern into the project pattern. Right?)

You also have the 8 encoders to control Macro - Global - Effect - Noise. But you don't have complete control over the kit samples, FX, and Macros like you do with software.

For Play Series like Duets, where the focus shifts to instruments like bass, keys, etc., in addition to the specific instrument in Keyboard mode, we also have the Chords function. In plug-in mode, we can control the balance of the two multisamps, as well as the Macros and Sequencer with submenus (Pitch/Vel and Macros on 6 different FX), and also control the settings of the two sounds A and B (Mono - Legato Glide - Priority). However, unlike the software version, we don't have extensive control over the sounds, effects, and macros of the specific preset.

If so, we certainly have many new sounds, but compared to the software version, there are limitations in terms of "sound design," so it's not a complete transposition of the Play Series from Maschine Software to Maschine +.

Did I understand correctly, or is there more?

No it's not the same as the computer version, because the standalone system is limited. It's exactly the same story with the MPC Editions. The standalone is cut down from the original.

With the NI products though, we do get the full VST plugin for computer, whereas the cheaper MPC versions either are standalone only, or include a simplified VST plugin.

So, if that's what I thought, I think the hype surrounding the Play Series on Maschine+ is excessive. More than instruments, they seem like multi-samples with little else. That's not to say they're not welcome.

You've hit the nail on the head. The Play Series stuff is basically sampled sounds and a bit of processing in a self contained package.

The Play Series instruments for M+ are not simplified versions.. they are full versions the same as for the desktop.. you can see for yourself by looking at the contents of both desktop [NA content location] and M+ versions [sd card]. they contain the same content [M+ includes the metadata and images].

This is only true by technicality. Answer the question in good faith. It's the same deal with all of the other NI plugins contained on Maschine+, which is to say that they are technically the "full version", but the capacity to fully design your own presets on them is severely limited by poor organization & poor communication of the device's parameters.

My reasoning is broader. I said how it is different moreover appreciating the "concession" and the effort made to achieve it. What transpires from your intervention, more than a contribution seems a defense against an attack. There is no attack but only observations that can be denied especially by NI.

You get roughly the same functionality of a MK3 user that completely ignores the computer screen, in a nutshell that's what the M+ is… an "headless" MK3.

IMO, you get almost everything that makes sense to have in a standalone that has no touch screen and no advanced On-Screen-Feedback / advanced instrument GUI displayed on screen… Keeping in mind that you're using instruments that are a bonus and not fully designed from the ground up to be used exclusively with knobs.
It gets touchy with Drum Instruments since those are more aimed at DAW users, by using Keyboard Mode we are already missing out on all the individual drum-hit quick controls Maschine's internal (sampler) offers amongst other stuff, with the M+ you add lack of a GUI as a con so it's a bit worst.

So it's not a complete transposition of the Play Series from Maschine Software to Maschine +.

This was also the case for all instruments (Massive, FM8 and Monark) with Prism being the exception, so there's nothing new happening here.

It's not realistic to expect Instruments to have 100% of all possible controls on an M+.
