Was the Kontakt 8 Player update intentional, or did it slip into the production version by accident, like what happened with Vintage Organ?
@AdelV Thanks a lot for your report, this was indeed not intentional and we removed the update. Our apologies. There is still an issue with kontakt 8 on the M+ that we are working on. Kontakt instruments saved in projects/groups/sounds wont load properly with kontakt 8. Unfortunatly to remove kontakt 8 you would have to perform a factory reset.

All updates are user driven - you must manually actually click Update in Native Access to get any of them. They are not automatic.
And do tell - what happened to Vintage Organ?

Maschine+ doesn't use Native Access.
Vintage Organ was once briefly available as an instrument on the Maschine+ platform, before NI realised their mistake. Those who managed to grab it have been able to use it on their + ever since.

I loaded it this morning and its sitting on my M plus when I click on settings and show installed products.
It doesn't seem to show up in instruments on the browser but when I press the Browser/+Plug-in button and I select TYPE: Instr. and FORMAT: VST3 and VENDOR: NI, there it is listed as Kontakt 8 in between FM8 and Kontakt. I assume the other Kontakt in the list is Kontakt 6 which I think came bundled with Maschine plus. I've messed with it a bit but I can't find any new sounds. I can only find sounds in browser mode if I select Kontakt but I think that is just Kontakt 6 sounds already loaded. I does come up selected in sound mode and shows the Kontakt 8 logo with "orchestral" selected but all the paramaters (1 to 16) are empty. I haven't had much time to mess with it but someone might be able to get it going. I'm an intermediate user.
I just posted about Kontakt 8 now installed on my system as of this morning. It may have slipped out because in my limited experience with Maschine plus it looks incomplete

@Myles C So you have installed the. Kontakt 8 update on the M+? If so, I'll contact you by email. You might run into an issue where old projects that use kontakt presets wont load the kontakt instrument properly. You would need to do a factory reset to remove the update. My colleagues will guide you through the process. Our sincere apologies.

I also installed the Kontakt 8 update on my M+. My M+ froze after restarting, it won't start. It stops when the system loads and nothing else appears :(
I’m using Vintage Organs since then without any issue. Keep wondering why NI never released it officially
I agree, it is a shame that NI never saw fit to release new FX or instruments for the Plus since 2020. The ideal would be akin to what Akai do - release plugins that run on both desktop & standalone for one price.
That's what cut deep when NI announced the new plugins for MPC. They fed the competition first, and let us go hungry. Hopefully something will come "soon", five or six years after Plus arrived. 🤣
Indeed. Wondering if this is due to a M+ technical limitation on the number of parallel disk read of SD cards compared to Akai internal drives (on the synthstrom deluge open source firmware initiative we’re hitting that SD limit pretty hard with multisample patches).
