In desperate need of help with Traktor 4 malfunction

I am a new Traktor Pro 4 user - I had been using the free Pro 2 software for a couple of years to make reccorded sets. I decided to get the Z1 controller a few months ago, and so of course, the Traktor Pro 4 came with it. I've been slowly learning to use it. I then had my old macbook Air shut down on me in the middle of a set, the battery was damaged, so my husband gave me his macbook Air to use. I installed the software, and have been able to use it until suddenly I got a weird message about not being able to load because of something to do with the "logfile." I did a little googling, and found a solution (find and put the logs in the trash). But then when I opened it, this happened:

I hit okay, and this is what it looks like when I open it:

I've reinstalled the software via Native Access, and I've even trashed NA and then re-downloaded and installed it, and no joy.

Try this, after you have added your collection: Right Mouse Click (on collection node) → Save Collection.

Traktor 'should' be doing this automatically when closing. I have this as a command in my keyboard mapping and use it every hour when prepping tracks, moving or chaning playlist around, etc. just as a safety measure.

You can also run Traktor as admin and see if that helps. Maybe your installation simply does not have write access.

You have to import your old collection (right mousclick on 'collection' node, hit import). Select the collection.nml file that can be found in the 'backup' subfolder of your Traktor installation (as mentionend in the popup shown in your picture).

Edit: That's for windows. I seem to remember macOS has different mouse commands but the procedure should be similiar.

This may be so, but this doesn't solve for the fact that every time I close and then open Traktor, I have to go to the settings and then reset it to default settings, and then add all my music back in.
