Is this new update already in beta? Are you still targeting the end of the month for release?
Haha, why is Ableton so transparent and friendly? They even have a Discord server where they share info about current development and beta updates — even if you’re not part of the beta!
I'm from an era when beat machines didn't get updates and we paid twice as much for the hardware, so I am more than appreciative when we do get an update, but the point I am making, relax or settle for Ableton.
Cool story, bro. But honestly — what’s the point of your comment? Are you just trying to mock me because I’m looking for info about an update that matters to me and others?
You probably don’t even understand why this update is so important to us. 😂
So to you — and others who are downvoting my comments — here’s a suggestion:
Maybe go for a walk or hit up KFC, grab something tasty, and let people focus on what matters to them.
Thanks.
I'm really annoyed that there is still no update for M+. When will it finally happen?
It’s planned for the end of the month, but realistically, if it doesn’t happen by Thursday, it will probably be postponed again. I’m asking politely because we’ve been waiting a very long time — and honestly, it’s becoming quite frustrating.
Hopefully they're not too busy developing plugins for competing hardware.
But it's just the same as always.
They've given a date that they're aiming for, but there are so many reasons why such dates can be missed. The devs have no reason to artificially delay things. So why not just trust that it will be here exactly when it's ready to be here?
You are forgetting that on that era (from which I also am) the beat machines were usually released well tested, finished and complete (for what they intended them to do). And when things were not well done, machines with bugs were a big reason for a failure… which is not the case now: some unfinished and bugged products are very successful anyway, exactly because we then can have updates (and they even slay it in your face when you make them notice what is not right: “it’s the most used product, so we are right”).
The “new” era in which we are now is the one where they cut expenses about beta testing, make very short beta periods in order to release the thing and start cashing the money (and they often ignore what beta testers tell them) and even release incomplete products saying “we will add things later”, to then make people wait ages and abandon the product before it’s completely mature in order to produce a new one to sell and make new money.
Therefore… I think the existence of people waiting for updates is more than normal
Come on, it’s not like asking a question is something bad.
The update has been delayed for quite a while, so of course we’re frustrated — that’s completely normal.
Some of us actually work with this gear and use a hybrid DJ setup that depends on this update. It’s not just about curiosity — it’s about workflow and reliability.
Generally speaking, asking questions isn't bad. But what is it you expect the answer to be, other than that the update is not ready to be released.
A setup that depends on the update? In what way? What kind of scenario requires the use of Maschine 3 on the M+ rather than Maschine 2?
I bought my M+ to use with a DJ setup too, and have been doing so for several years now.
I agree with the others. They've said it's on the way. It'll be here when it's ready. If you want to know what's happening with the beta, sign up.
Well in November 2024 many of us starts using Maschine 3. Since then wa are without compatibility.
I was thinking that’s clear but look like not…
Imagine a bakery that sold you pastries that had only spent 75% of the allotted time in the oven, and contained 65% of the necessary ingredients. That's where we're at with technology. We have a right to be mad. Also, hey the new forum looks & feels terrible. Stop tweaking stuff in the background and allocate some payroll to your devs so that we can have products that are feature-complete. How many times are you going to pay someone to tweak the forum UI & why are you throwing money at this instead of the products you sell us?!
The real problem I have with the new forum layout is that it hides the discussion when an "accepted answer" exists. In many modern forums (like Microsoft Community — previously TechNet), the accepted answer is shown above the discussion, but the discussion itself remains visible. Here's how NI handles it:
Even if I clear the URL parameters, it still always shows the "accepted answer," which makes me think they want to hide the discussion when it's inconvenient.
"Since then wa are without compatibility"
Not true. If you start something on the Plus, you can still load that to Maschine 3 software to complete it.
It can't be done the other way around yet, but since the Plus is a standalone device (i.e. people buy it to use without a computer) it's less of an issue IMO. For those who do wish to swap files in both directions, Maschine 2 software is still perfectly functional and compatible.
I'm getting a serious feeling of deja vu here, as if I've said something similar before when people have posted saying there's no compatibility or it's unusable etc.
