Thoughts on new update

Some remarks/complaints:
First:
The plugin windows are now all on top. Really on top. Always. They even hide my web browser, task manager or office application. No way to put them into the background. Was that intended? For doing a serious production/recording, all other applications should be closed - but for simple testing purposes or when following a tutorial on YouTube at the same time?
They still remain visible and on top, if I minimize the main window into the task bar!
And: the may hide even the "Preferences" dialog or the "cancel/discard/save" dialog when closing an unsaved project.
Second:
The grid is still dark gray on black, gridlines are nearly unseeable. Still want my old colour scheme back, at least as an option. the current colour scheme is not what I call barrier free!!
Third:
drawing automation curves results in croocked lines, not straight ones. Still would like to have the option of drawing an automation curve simply clinking a start- and an end-point and get a straight line in between. So, as Somplitude does it since years…
Points 2 and 3 are nothing revolutionary, but should be easy to implement and make life much easier.

The biggest problem with the update right now is parity, things in V2 that work, that do not work in v3, things in V2 that were such and such a size, that in V3 take up way more space with no actual advantage to the user.
Right now I find myself booting v2 over v3 pretty much every time, and until something is added that I think, yep, I need that, then I doubt that will be changing anytime soon.3 -
there is still some vst's there doesn't show up in suitable size...like arturia, xln and even Izotope stuff... annoying

Oh yes, Pigments often occupies half the screen…

Another problem that I already had before the update (but which still persists): plugin windows escape from the main window - after starting Maschine, open plugins are far more to the right or bottom compared to where they were, when I closed Maschine.
I am afraid, that sooner or later a window will be completely outside the screen.

would be much better to make piano roll with notes only from selected scale (like in Live), don't see any benefits of seeng a note name if I don't know is a note in my chosen scale or not, for example F is not in E minor, but I can put it into piano roll

by the way, this has probably been asked many times already, but will we see a high resolution GUI any time soon or I can forget about it?😊
very disappointing to use Maschine comparing to other programs…

I'd really like to see Capture MIDI added to Maschine in the not too distant future. That would be a very welcome and useful feature. As well as the option to crop patterns.

I’d say , to make it less ridged, if you’ve set a scale it doesn’t mean you have to use the set notes in it

I mean an option to fold piano roll to only notes from selected scale, also then, ability to see and chose scale from software, not only from hardware

Also, an option to restart playback with spacebar would be great, right now I must press opt+spacebar to restart

TBH I'm happy to have something to talk about here other than just tech support. :)
I gotta say, seeing note names in tooltips instead of inside the note blob is very, very weird to me. This means I can only see one at a time, I have to hover with the mouse pointer and wait for a delay… So I just can't glance and see the big picture, so to speak; it's slow.
Every other music software I've ever used simply shows the note names inside the notes when the vertical zoom is big enought… Now that we finally have more vertical zoom, this decision is even stranger to me.
For keyswitches that have long names, it makes sense to hover since these are often triggered with really short notes, the text names would not fit, but notes are just 2 or 3 characters.
Correct, at the same time, that's what Scale mode does with the Pads, making it Diatonic means the 16 Pads reach a bit more than 2 Octaves, which is handy when a keyboard is not around, for the Piano Roll it makes things faster to think in degrees, especially for theory noobs like me, it's so much more easy to make a 9th, 13th chord that way… Although it does add rigidity, no doubt.
By default, Ableton also just colors the 'right notes', "Fold To Scale" and "Fold To Notes" are extra options. Now that we've got the basics, maybe we can have those options later. I would like that very much aswell.

options are always good , as it’s just been added , they might improve on it , I don’t think they’ll add it to the software , that’s been requested since chords and scales were added .
The scale is saved to a group , you could make some templates for when you’re away from the controller
EDIT - piano roll light guide doesn’t work without the controller0 -
The scale is saved to a group , so you could make some template for when you’re away from the controller
Are you sure? I dont have my HW with me now to verify, but I could swear if you set Scale it's auto-selected in all other Groups and not loaded on Group loading. I could be wrong tho

I’ll check with two different scales , I only saved 1 , and loaded it in a new project
