Standard support article for that one is this page and you can try to follow the advice : Fixing Software Update Installation Issues (Windows) .

However , depending on the cause of the problem then that might not fix the problem. Sometimes Nativa Access simply needs to be reset and N.I. has not yet given any way of doing so so if the above doesn't work then you ought to contact N.I. Native Access and Installation Support . In case of you need further guidance : How to contact NI Support .

In case that the above fix doesn't work then you can also use the quote below post here to alert me and I can then call someone N.I. forum Customer Care to take a look though if they can not fix it either then you will still have to contact support.

Hello. I have a similar issue.

I can't update the Maschine SW and the Komplete Kontrol SW. I don't know what to do. I also can't remove them with uninstall-tool you mentioned here. They don't appear in the list.

Can you please help me? Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

    Paddy

I am experiencing the same issues. Kontakt 8 did install but both Maschine 3 and Komplete Kontrol just hang up and the installation just goes on and on but never completes. I have waited up to 20 minutes and still nothing but a line running back and forth across the screen.

Just ran into the same issue. But i found a solution :)

I saw that the install process was still running, even after exiting native access. Inside native access you can see the installation path, in my case it was "C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Maschine 3" - and that directory was missing, so i guess they made the mistake of missing permissions for doing that (i always started with admin rights and directory permissions).

I just created the directory "Maschine 3" myself and then the still running process installed it right away. :)

SOLVED (for me), and I think I may have discovered why it fails when Native Access is trying to install it.

Short answer - When you install something thru NA it will download the installers temporarily and run them, deleting them after the install is complete. Since this one never completes, that installer is still resident on your computer. I found it (in my downloads folder), and ran it manually, but had to choose "ignore" on a prompt-window multiple times thruout the installation. This prompt window, which was insisting that other applications were running even though they weren't, would pause the installation until I made a selection every time it came up. See below for all the details of what I found.

I finally upgraded to an MKIII this week, and Maschine 3 software wouldn't stop installing, like everyone else here.

I'm on Windows 11 with the latest updates.

I first tried @MM3000 solve, creating the Maschine 3 folder, but it didn't work. I created the folder while Maschine 3 was installing, and then also rebooted and started the install fresh thru NA again. Neither worked, but I left the folder I created there anyway.

Then I rebooted again to stop the installer, went to my downloads folder where NA had downloaded the Maschine 3 installer, and unzipped it. I ran the installer manually, right-clicking and running it as administrator, just to be safe.

It ran, and stepped me thru the process of installing what and where like any other installer. However, at multiple points thru the process, the install would pause and a prompt-window would appear saying that other applications were running, with button options to retry, cancel (I think), and ignore. But no other apps were running on my machine except the installer! So I just hit "ignore" each time and the installer continued. This happened at least 2 times, maybe 3 or even 4. The install appeared to be successful, I launched Maschine 3, and it ran just fine. So I'm guessing that this prompt-window which was pausing the installation when I did it manually was also happening when Native Access was trying to install it, and so NA would just sit there and hang. NA doesn't make visible any of the installation process, so I don't know for sure, all I know is doing it this way finally worked.

I rebooted my machine just to be on the safe side, went back into NA and it showed that Maschine 3 was indeed "installed".

Keep in mind my first step where I had created the "Maschine 3" folder manually before I ran the installer. Would it have worked had I not done that? No idea. So if you try this, keep that step in mind just in case.

Hope this helps folks out there.

@Olihop Just go back into Native access and install from there again. NA will download it first, start to install it, then will hang. Restart your computer and you should see the zipped install folder in the location you had set NA to put all its downloads (which is not the same as the location you told NA to put the INSTALLED software). Unzip it and run as administrator, and you should be able to go thru all the prompts to completion.
