    Quite a dramatic situation…

Imagine if all the musicians in history should have had to buy all their instruments in duplicates…

We would probably be without music now

At this point, I'm thinking of going acoustic. :P

Hmmm do you guys really think Stevie Wonder has just one harmonica, or Nile Rodgers has just one guitar? I've just been reading about Elton John, who has "at least four touring piano systems".

Even the lesser known guys on YouTube - how often do you see they just have one MPC, one synth?

I'm not even at that level, and I've got multiple turntables, mixers, speakers, amps, controllers, lights, stands, computers, keyboards, samplers…

I wonder how many Maschines DJ Buck Rodgers has in total? 🤔

No. what I think is that maybe Stevie Wonder learned on a single harmonica.

Probably borrowed from one friend because he could not afford to buy one 😂

And Elton John learnt to play piano and love music on his teacher piano, before even buying one.

Are you really saying that all musicians started their careers with “at least four touring piano systems”?

Or that YouTubers are representative of the history of music?

Then… if you want to compare nowadays lucky guys like us who buy a lot of stuff just for their hobby… go for it… but I’m quite sure many musicians (that then became famous later) spared for months (maybe even renouncing to various meals) just to buy a half broken organ. Then, since they were good, they started to make money… and only THEN they bought a very expensive Hammond. And… a single one, not duplicates of it.

Even worst: probably for half of their careers they used the studios/labels instruments, not even owning them. Or the church ones, like in the case of Stevie Wonder

    🤔

Ah but we're not talking about before Stevie got signed, or when Elton John was a child.

The original post that you responded to with "imagine if all the musicians…" said:

"If the M+ is such a vital part of your live performance setup, you should have at least one backup unit"

Are you saying that a backup of some kind should not be considered in that situation?

Even if you're not a live performer. I see posts here from people saying they can't meet a deadline for a important studio project because [blame NI for something] - but backups are important there too.

Dont tell me I should also have two identical mixers, and doubles of all the other gear I am using on stage? Cuz that'd bankrupt me to be honest.. local indie rave gigs dont exactly shower you with money youknow..

I am not a touring professional music person, and I'd never want to be one. The idea of having to always be on the move, playing the same material night after night.. it'd kill me inside. So I wont even try to go there

Maaan I’ve got the K15CE – so technically, I’m complete. Emotionally? I might just need a Big Mac. More calories, more joy. 😅🍟

Hearing about the 3.2 desktop release on Youtube brought me here.

I've had a really long break from music making, just occasionally dabbling with synths and pulling out various grooveboxes once in a while, mainly listening to old projects rather than constructing music and maybe I need 3 for M+ to kick start me into this again with some new features. Not that i've ever felt it lacking, but new features always add to the experience.

It's good news anyway seeing development of Maschine happening and reading about the M+ release coming sometime soon and that the development team are actively engaging with users. Makes the site seem a bit more positive too if this thread is anything to go off.

Hey guys, I know you’re really busy, but I’d really appreciate even a tiny update on what’s happening with this. I’m eager to finally use both Maschine 3 and Maschine+ together for live performances, but the lack of full compatibility in both directions is still holding me back.

Back in November 2024, you mentioned that the M3 software would be available on Maschine+ “soon.” Now we’re nearing the end of June 2025, and the hardware still doesn’t have Maschine 3 support. I understand that Q2 isn’t quite over yet, but there’s not a lot of time left...
