Clean My Mac - Danger!

This is a quick warning to all users of Kontakt and ' Clean my mac' on their systems. The most recent update of ' Clean my mac' features very aggressive scanning and scrubbing tools, which unfortunately deleted numerous important files in my contact libraries, rendering them unusable.

Thanks to Native Instruments support and the diagnostics tool, I was able to resolve this issue and reinstall all my libraries, and now I am back up and running again. Just be careful out there.

Any affected products must be uninstalled and then reinstalled. Sorry but apparently then that is the extend of how bad the CleanMyMac mess up things.

@retephil Do you have time machine backups from before you used CMM? You could roll back to a snapshot version if you do.

No, unfortunately I don't have a useable backup as I was migrating from MacBook Pro M1 to Macbook Pro M4 Max a few weeks ago…

Uninstall Clean My Mac by dragging the item to trash?
Then uninstall Native Intruments (with Kontakt 8) completely? → is the a manual or something how to do this on mac?

Sorry , I don't know , I do not have a Mac. There is this forum post about the problem but I do not think that it includes anything about uninstall : Do not use Clean My Mac.
