This release focuses on stability, critical bug fixes, and compatibility improvements for Maschine 2 on Maschine+ – laying important groundwork ahead of the upcoming Maschine 3 (on Maschine+) update.

For users planning to stay on Maschine 2 (on Maschine+), we’ve addressed a number of long-standing issues you’ve flagged to ensure a smoother, more reliable experience.

Key updates in 1.6.1:

System-level improvements including a kernel upgrade
Sample rate and buffer size settings are now adjustable to improve compatibility with a wider range of USB audio class-compliant interfaces. (Note: Raising the buffer size does not reduce CPU usage, which remains optimized for real-time pad performance.)
New effect compatibility: Maschine+ now supports the Mod and Crush Pack effects—Freak, Dirt, Flair, Bite, and Choral. (You must own a valid license in your account for them to appear in the Library tab.)

Instrument upgrade: Maschine+ now supports Massive 1.7, bringing improved compatibility and NKS 2 support.

How to update

Connect your Maschine+ to Wi-Fi
Press the Settings button and go to the System page
Press Soft Button 8 to install the update

Added and Improved

Improved external audio interfaces compatibility and stability
User adjustable sample rate and buffer size
Support for Mod & Crush pack effects (Freak, Dirt, Flair, Bite, and Choral)
Updated Massive to 1.7.0 compatibility and NKS 2 support

- Reaktor presets saved on the Maschine+ not loading on Maschine desktop.
- Massive presets saved on Maschine desktop not loading the Maschine+.

Maschine 3 is coming to Maschine+ next, bringing the Maschine 3 feature set, deeper NI plugin compatibility including Kontakt 8, Play Series instruments, and the powerful new bounce-in-place feature – designed to support more CPU-intensive workflows. You’ll see continued expansion of supported NI content with that release.

I just wanted to say thank you for the update to Maschine plus.

While its mainly quality of life, it seems to rock solid so far.

I know there have been some frustrated folk around but thank you for the progress and we look forward to Maschine plus 3. (ps don't worry about stem separation)

Thanks for this update! And happy easter holidays!

For the next update I really hope you can make more use of the second screen. Instrument- and plugin graphics instead of just a big plugin name. Show EQ curves, Compressor ratios, TVF/TVA Envelopes etc… Like Push and MPC actually do.

But I guess this is a CPU issue.

+1 please don’t prioritize precious dev resources to focus on stem separation on standalone when there are so many other important things that would bring much more value

I’m sure many would be disappointed if Stem separation would be left out…

Even because the whole Maschine 3 didn’t bring so much to the table… if they start to leave out one of the biggest new feature because some people are not interested in it… what remains?

Hey Chris I must say something and I really mean it, this is my honest opinion.

Maschine Plus is Fantastic Instrument and I always keep Survey allowed. I am happy with how Support helped me with the MK3 and now I am blown away by Standalone mode and how much Creative I become.

Yesterday I was so happy to see what is Update going to do and like never before immediately after Update my New Projects starting to crash and to Restore from the last saved...

Almost like it's intentionally by someone... Paranoid Toughts are possessing me with unbelievable M+ which now I can't use freely because it's going to Crash.

The only thing I have changed is Massive NKS int- so I can access the Wave Table and sculpt, design that sound.

I think that this has to be Fixed.

I don't use Latency and Sample Rate options and I didn't use those.

This is just second or third Project that can't go further and I tried different names, restarting and actually it's 14 Projects.

If I missed something, maybe I'm not supposed to use Massive NKS int- preset?

Humor is the cure in situations that I believed are past.

☝️😃🤳 Together we can make better Maschine, it's like in Life, only people together can do more than what one Artists reach just to find out that it's not enough and Live Act can restore that Balance.

One Flair and usually FX I use but I was able to do more and without Crashing.

I honestly believe that it's something that is not demanding for a FIX and I am always ready to hear the truth and if I was mistaken for years but that everything started right after the Payment and first Update showed Problem occurred but I'm not sure because it didn't happen to me before.

I I continued with the try again option that was offered and the update was completed successfully.

I had those pictures too if it's needed I'm not sure what do I need to do and how to do it right…

I know what can be new Killer Feature for M+ but I am sure you have it enough...

I do more than I was able to imagine and I consider myself Advanced user and since last update I had often crashing and restoring from the last time it automatically saved.

I am using new Massive NKS int- preset and that's everything that changed. CPU is 56% and it's something I used to do but suddenly new projects are getting crash and it's just matter of time and it's happening to me but I was curious about your experience.

I fo everything in Maschine Standalone including the Master and I am quite happy with doing everything with ears. I can share my Releases but to be honest it's about your experience and maybe it's something that can be identified and fixed amoug users here.

It's not about Genre.

This i couldn't do without Maschine and literally I couldn't even imagine Music like that where no the rhythmic element does not predict or hint at what is to come, and it has Bass and is mainly related to the life of nature and tends towards chill out Music and music for relaxation.

Drums are great and I don't want to accept reality in which nothing can last longer than it was designed for to be used.

I couldn't agree more with you but somehow I thought that some things like what you mentioned are in the Past.☝️🤣🤳 I'm laughing out loud.

It's very new project made in M+ everything updated, is crashing after some time and I am confused.

I sent you a video and you should be able to see. Apparently only those who received link can see Private Video.

It's not about Genre, it's not even my Artistic The direction is more like a part of me and the once useful Loop for DJ.

But it's literally after the update in first half hour. I didn't sleep I don't eat and I remember when I decided to stop worrying and do what I can... and now I have Music I prepared for releases and that's it ☝️🤣🤳 I can't do Live…Humor is great.

Can I ask you if you tested projects moving back and forth and if everything seems ok?

Nobody is answering about this at the moment, and by this answer of yours it sounds like you had a chance to test it

@Chris_NI Thanks for the maintenance update which had some very pleasent suprises up it's sleeve which weren't mentioned in the changelog:

M+ finally shows custom Midi port names - In my case from the iConnectivity Mio4 - which makes this a wonderful pair for a DAWless centerpiece.
M+ finally remembers the Midi clock setting (Midi clock send "on"). 4 seconds more quality time every day since I don't have to activate this each time. This adds up 😉

The new effect plugins are a great addition, of course.
I also wanna take the opportunity to break down my personal little wishlist for M+. Mostly little things, really. As M+ is already a pretty great unit:

a "Mono Left / Mono Right / Mono Center" conversion option in the Sampling/Edit tool set. I'm still sampling a lot from vinyl where instruments are often hard panned. I hade to build a little Reaktor tool to make dual mono panning possible in the M+
an option to disarm certain Midi pads from recording (maybe also audio inputs). Sometimes I just wanna sequence something with external hardware in the background while record patterns somewhere else. But Maschine always has all custom routings armed and starts recording them as soon as I hit the Rec button. Maybe you can include an "Record Arm" option in the Channel/Input/Midi tab?!
More "Generative" tools! Especially Note probabillity (Elektron style). M+ is a great piece of kit but it's also very much "locked in the Groove" and wants to be played. So sometimes when I want to develop little variations I have no other option than to record very long patterns. Maybe you can give that "Variations" tab an overhaul. I'm really not sure if anyone is using this at all. Global modulation tools like LFO's would also be great, of course. But I guess that's a bigger mission for the infrastructure.
WiFi sync for Projects, Kits etc: Going from Maschine software to hardware and vice versa is obviously a pain in the a…abdominal section. Especially since I cannot adress the internal SD card when I'm in Controller Mode. Syncing via Wifi would be great even if it's just for tagging stuff straight after saving.

That's it for the moment, I guess. If I had these things I could finally settle on a deserted Island with just my Maschine and a couple of old Jazz records 😎✌️

Out of all the noise around the forum, this wishlist has to be one of the best I’ve seen! Not asking the M+ to become the Star Trek ship but really ease-of-life stuff that makes sense for a groove box of Maschines capabilities! Nice one!

My Two Cents on the Update:

I installed the update a few days ago and started exploring what’s new by holding Shift on every page. In the System settings, after the online check confirms that Maschine+ is up to date, pressing Shift makes a Scan button appear in the top-right corner. Clicking Scan brings up a screen with the message:

"The system update is ready for installation"

…along with Install and Cancel buttons.

The update itself seems to work fine, but it doesn’t delete the system installation file from the SD/MMC (I think it's on the MMC since I couldn’t find anything on the SD card).

Can other users test this to confirm whether it’s just my Maschine forgetting to remove the file after the update?

Future Update Requests:

As many users have mentioned, a Mono/Stereo Utility (like Ableton’s Utility device) would be extremely useful.

Also, @Chris_NI, could you clarify something about user Reaktor patches?

Are you planning to allow users without a full Reaktor license to run these patches without time restrictions?
Or do we need to purchase the full Reaktor license to use them without limitations?
What’s the plan here? Should we wait, or start saving up for the license?

P.S. A lot of users are asking about MIDI generative options—which makes sense in 2025, given devices like Elektron, Oxi, Cirklon, etc.

I think this could be easily implemented—just allow Reaktor to send and receive MIDI internally in Maschine standalone mode. After that, the community will do the rest!

the update you see is a stored backup incase something goes wrong with your system…
