I need to manually re-install Battery4. Some of my old project in Cakewalk cannot load battery as I assume its looking for the vst2 Battery 4.dll. Has some of the recent updates taken away vst2? I believe my version is 4.3.1
You would have to approach NI Support about getting a much older installer.
The most recent ones in the last few years removed the VST2 as that format is largely retired.

Are you sure? The release notes state the VST3 was added in 2022 but says nothing about removing the VST2 and I just checked my VST2 folder and there is a VST2 of 4.3.1 - I know NI removed the VST2 for a lot of their plugins so assumed myself that was the case here too, but maybe because VST3 was only added comparatively late they kept it in the installer for a bit longer?
Doesn't explain why this person can't find theirs - maybe try reinstalling? Or which location NA is setup to install VST2 to?
@Kymeia
I will need to check my install. But if you are seeing a VST2 - I stand corrected.
And yes - if this is the case (and I am sure it is) - the OP's post does not make a lot of sense.
Mind you - let's all remember that Native Access (up to very very recently) always installed it's plugins in those strange non-standard "NI" plugin folders.
Could be that Cakewalk - in this case - is simply not scanning these if the OP left them in place.
I also confirm that Battery 4.3.1 still has a VST2 version.
Confirmed.
Apologies on jumping the gun there - I think I was getting crossed up thinking about the removal of the old "VST Folder Locations" within Native Access in the last few releases.
