Chord Sets from Maschine 3 Update on Maschine Studio are broken

Seems like the screen and buttons were not properly updated on the Maschine Studio.
The chord sets are there when you choose them but the button to actually program your own chords is not there instead it stays with FIXED VEL 🙈
No way to make your own Chord Sets…..

Someone needs to create some sort of megachords pack, with all known chords / inversions already built up. Any scripting wizards over here who could automate building such a pack?

I had a thought recently that the software should be able to work out from the settings (major/minor/scale/root note) and the notes added, what the name of the chord is, so that it could automatically name them as you made them….

im suprised people are not looking to scaler3 for their chord selections??
anyone tried Scaler3 in maschine? it would dwarf the chord usability in maschine3 given all the extras available

Indeed. If Maschine had a way to use input from plugs such as Scaler directly into Maschine Chords Sets 'packs' would start popping up but having to manually do it from KKS or via Pad live input makes it a pain…
Scale Mode + Harmozier can (sort of) already do that for the basic chords, but only up to 7th chords, no 9th's, 13th, etc…
How would a mega pack like that even be organized? Each set would be a different root note with 12 different version of a chord? That would mean switching set to trigger each chord.

I tried it with Maschine during Scaler 3 beta. It’s always the same experience: you need something like Blue Cat.
I hoped at least that, since now Scaler has a standalone version with multiple tracks that can send on different channels, I could use that to send to Maschine…but I haven’t found a way yet.
That’s why I went back to my usual workflows: Maschine inside the DAW and Scaler sending midi to it, but “external” from Maschine…or even better, Scaler (atm only 2) on iPad sending midi to Maschine (that’s the way I use it: imo having another (touch) screen on which I can always keep Scaler open and play it from there is the best solution)

i will look into it… & test it out

it would seem the best way to tie Scaler3 to Maschine
is loading maschine into Scaler3 standalone as a VST3…
load a instrument on sound slot 1
and that ties it directly realtime recording with linked chords from inside scaler
doing it the other way around ie.. does really tie in… and i found Maschine crashes after a certain amount of time… for some odd reason
so its better to load scaler3 standalone and then load the maschineVST3 within it…

Thank you. I didn’t think to load Maschine inside Scaler.
I don’t think I will adapt this as a workflow (even because the plugins windows in Scaler are really small for me, unless I change resolution), but it’s good to know it is working well

I dont think there's a way. I just had a chance to finally install and try Scaler 3 and had the same hope, standalone has MIDI IN but no MIDI Out, bummer.
At least it's on their radar for other purposes:

Hope is the last to die, isn’t it? ☺️

Not sure how responsive to requests the Scaler team is to be honest, but considering their major update is actually major and not mostly cosmetic I'd say there's hope. 😉 I would imagine lots of folks want to send fancy chords to external gear (?)

I’m part of the beta and I can tell you one thing: surely Davide has a very precise idea of what he wants for his product.
This doesn’t mean they are not responsive to requests, but, during the beta, it has been very clear that even having many people questioning some of the choices will not make him change his ideas about how he wants things.
It’s easier to have him answering a “people are just allergic to changes” than a “if you all tell us so, we could rethink it”.
That said, I must also say that maybe this was partially due to them being under pressure for the release date (another point on which we declared our doubts, since many were thinking the beta phase needed a lot more time).
But, to be fair to them, the beta quickly moved from a program with half of the functionalities not even yet implemented to what we have now (in the order of a couple of weeks they have done miracles)

I got the same feeling listening to another developer recently during a web presentation. They are also under pressure to release so they can get to selling things.

In some cases this can also be a good thing: having a precise direction could be a sign of clear ideas.
Sometimes a developer “imposing” his vision is not that wrong.
Unless it brings to not listening to anything that is suggested, even when it’s valid
