Kontakt 8 VST3 plugin error in Ableton 12.1.10

Hi!

The VST3 version of Kontakt 8 is not showing i the plugin window in Ableton. The AU version is visible and working fine. After some usual trouble shooting (as reinstalling both Kontakt8 and Ableton) I found an clue in the Ableton Live PluginScanner.txt:

"VST3: check plugin at path: "/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3 Kontakt/Kontakt 8.vst3"
2025-03-04T13:51:47.493933: error: Failed to load plugin: a sealed resource is missing or invalid"

So Ableton sees the plugin but refuses to enable it.

I am in a middle of a big production and now I am stuck with missing plugin errors in my Ableton projects where I have used the VST3 Kontakt8. It will take a lot of extra work to update the tracks with the AU version and load the used sample libraries.

Any suggestion or could a Native engineer look into this?

    I'm on this version of Live and both are working fine in the VST3 version - try pressing alt/option while clicking on the rescan plugins button - this will reset the blacklist and force a full rescan

    Update: It seem like this is a Ableton issue and not NI. I have reinstalled Kontakt and the VST3 version is showing up in Presonus Studio One and working fine there. But in Ableton it is still the same sits. I should have reported this to Ableton support but I am on a tight deadline and have managed to work around the issue by replacing the Kontakte tracks.

    That’s why you need to do a reset rescan as Ableton has blacklisted it

    I have exactly the same problem. The VST3 version of Kontakt 8 was working fine in Ableton Live, I use it daily. Today went looking for the documentation for AR Vintage Drummer, and stared Native Access, and I saw 8 or 10 of the hundred or so NI libraries I own needed updates. I picked update all. Five minutes later I restarted Ableton and Kontakt 8 will no longer load. I reinstalled Kontakt 8 after completely uninstalling it, and it still doesn't work… the same error in the log.txt file as noted in the OP.

    Something happened in the update of Kontakt 8 that killed it in Ableton. I understand the VST3 might work in other daws (I can get it to work in Reason) - nevertheless the only change I did was update Kontakt. This feels like a NI bug, not Ableton.

    I'd like to add: This problem occurs in both Ableton Live 12 AND Live 11.

    It's not a bug - read above - the issue has been fixed for several users by forcing a rescan in Live - try alt/option + rescan to do a full rescan, if that doesn't work remove the VST3 then rescan, then put it back
