The annoying thing for me is that you can't create custom chords on a Maschine Studio, even though you can use them. Fingers crossed the feature will appear at some point.

Can you edit the names of the chords in the .json file?

    From the manual :

"You can transfer your user chords to other Maschine systems. For example, this allows you to port your chords from your computer to Maschine+ or to share them with other Maschine users. Each set of user chords is saved as a distinct JSON file on your hard disk at the following location:

    ~/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Shared/User Chords/

     (macOS) or

    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Native Instruments\Shared\User Chords\

(Windows). On Maschine+ the JSON files of your user sets are located on the user data SD card under

    Native Instruments/Maschine 3/User Chords/

. When transferring user set files between Maschine systems, you might need to rename the files to avoid naming conflicts with existing user set files on the target system. While doing so, arbitrary file names may be chosen."

You can do as much renaming as you like by using a text editor to change the names in the json file.

If you open the file it's pretty obvious where the names go.

Unfortunately though it seems the files only get read when Maschine starts up. If you change the names while Maschine is running, there's no way to refresh.

I don't have that path, I cannot find those .json files

    EDIT: I found the path,

If you mean on a Mac, the path is only created when you create new user chords. I had to create the "User Chords" folder to add some chord files as it wasn't there.

If you rename the chords in the .json file it reflects in the controller

Ok, thanks for the workaround...would be nicer if you were able to rename it on the controller using the shift button for example.

Nice to see users can share custom chords using the .json files!

I wonder if it would be cool to have a 'User Chord Thread' here where we can all share our various created chord sets, for various different genres, etc.

And then it could keep growing as people add and be a nice resource

Anyone know how to get custom chords to work on a mikro mk3? The option is there but cannot work out how to play in the notes like on the video?!

I don't think you can create chords on the Mikro, although you can play them if you have a chord file as mentioned above. I expect at some point there will be somewhere to share them.

Correct - it's play only on the Mikro, Jam and Studio. For now anyway.

As fun and useful as this new feature, it's kind of funny how faster using the old method with one sound and one group with each Pad can be pitched +/- key an octave.

This new 3.1 is made to look clean in order and preview is useful, i can't wait for it to be on M+ standalone.
