Basic help with MIDI configuration

How do you get the MIDI configuration set up for both devices? Problem I am having also is that the Maschine 3 beats are transferring to the S61. I can't play the loaded software from my Kontrol S61. It's like the M3 took over. Please help even if it's with a start over. Thank you

open maschine, go to settings , midi / input tab , check the boxes in the list
Komplete kontrol software doesn’t work inside of maschine
The komplete kontrol becomes a midi controller in maschine , with limited integration compared to earlier models ,but more than other brands on the market, there’s no browser support, but transport buttons work , chord and scale and you get the instrument and fx loaded on the keyboard (nks) like you would with komplete kontrol , which updates per sound/group selected

Hello,
what DAW do you use or do you use kk stand alone? You just have to route both midi streams from the keys and from the pads to kk. If you use kk stand alone you just activate both devices (the correct ports) as midi in and basically the same within your DAW.

I am new to all of this new tech. I don't have any software other than the software that is in these 2 units. Should I get a DAW? If so which one? I read the comments and I will go into my settings and start from there.

you can do quite a bit in maschine , give it a go , if you don’t like it’s work flow , you can demo most daws

As @ALDREAD already said, you can do lots of stuff with maschine and you can use this and for a beginner it is more than enough to learn. If you later need more you can look for a DAW, then I would also suggest to watch some videos about each DAW, you can also test them - but as I said do it later and start with maschine.
