Komplete Kontrol MK3: USB-C to USB-A + external power -> Stays in MIDI mode

Hello,
I was using Kontrol S88 MK3 with an M2 MacBook Air and it was working fine with Kontakt/Komplete NKS integration.
Now I need to use it temporarily with an older Mac Pro 2013 running Monterey (12.7.6)… This Mac doesn't have a USB-C port so I tried several USB-C to USB-A cables/adapters and with all of them, the S88 MK3 is not recognized as a Komplete Kontrol keyboard and instead it stays in MIDI mode.
Is there a limitation to using NKS with this setup (Monterey, USB-A, etc.)? Or is it a matter of finding the right cable? if the latter, which cable should I get? I have tried 3-4 cables and none worked beyond basic MIDI mode…

Probably an obvious question, but do you have the MK3 software installed on the older MacBook?

Do you also have NI Hardware Connection Service installed?

Well, I have Native Access and Komplete Kontrol installed on both - The only difference is that on the Mac Pro (where it doesn't work as an NKS keyboard) I'm using an older NI account that does not have the MK3 registered to it (it is registered to my other account which I was using on the MacBook) - Do you think the MK3 won't be fully recognized if it's not registered to the Native Access account currently in use? I will try switching to my other account when I get back home to see if it works… thanks.

Good catch! I assumed Hardware Connection gets installed by default… Thanks!
@PoorFellow: Thanks for the links, the 2nd one was what I needed to add Hardware Connection to my account!
