Locate a third party instrument in Kontakt 8

Hi everyone. I'm new here.

I downloaded the free "The Orchestra Elements Library" from Sonuscore and am trying to use the Native Access tool to install it. It appears in the NI Library but no matter where I put it on my C drive or what I do, I keep getting the error message, "The path is invalid" when I click Locate. I've read the help files but nothing works. I also downloaded the free Kontakt 8 player.

Note When I downloaded "The Orchestra Elements Library" it appeared as "Unconfirmed 434773.crdowmload" in Windows Explorer but it unzipped fine. Their website shows a download size of 4,206 MB. My download size is 3,308 MB. I'm not sure if that would be an issue in locating the file in the NI Library. The instrument may not work but I have a request into the Sonuscore people asking for an alternate download site.

Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks.

(My PC has Windows 10 Home installed. )

I should have typed "Unconfirmed 434773.crdownload".

Try downloading the library again from the SonusCore account page , also read the download instructions.

If you have problems with the in-browser downloads from a website then try another browser as described in section Website functionality here.

On PC then the download size of the the_orchestra_elements zip file ought to be around 4,01 GB (4.307.097.690 bytes) , at least that is the size when I tried it.

Otherwise then the "The path is invalid" error when you click 'Locate' can be due to a missing .nicnt file ! : Native Access Error: "Path is invalid"

P.S. SonusCore appear to have six other free items (total of seven) , but the rest of it require the full version of Kontakt. Also then only those items where it only says €0,00 is free the ones with other amounts (says e.g. €0,00 - €119,00) are only 14 days trials.

    P.S. 2 :

By mistake a knowledge-base article link were left out in my answer above , that error has now been corrected in the above 🙂

The download page link you provided was the exact spot I first tried to download from. I read their instructions but without a full download, I can't get this to work.

I tried downloading the Orchestra Elements Library again but this time in Firefox with no extensions activated. Still crashed at about 80%. I'm going to clear my Temporary Internet Files and other things and re-try. Stay tuned…

Appear to me to be a problem on your computer or on your internet connection (if on Wifi then try a wired connection if possible). Also if you are using a PC then I would assume that you are using NTFS filesystem and not e.g. Fat32 that only supports a smaller file size , also be sure to have enough temp space on your drive for download and your AV or something else is not blocking for some reason.

I have downloaded the file using Firefox and there is no problem for me. I doubt that it is the link that is bad , but the site will allow you to buy the The Orchestra Elements at €0 a second time using same account and will then provide you with a second download link and a second serial key , but I can not tell if the download link generated truly will be another (it will use same key but a different order number).

With respect to browsers then especially the no extensions used and all cookies accepted is important. In the nature of this then you would be using the browsers own download manager rather than a third-party program or extension.. (I have more extensions on my browser with mostly no problems but it is important to understand that using extensions can give all sort of strange problems as can denying cookies including Google's tracking ones)(it all often depends on the individual site and the skill of the site programmers)

I've tried everything to download the complete file. No go. It gets to about 70% and drops out. I think the company is located in Germany. Perhaps the cause is a server time-out?

They may provide me with a more direct link that bypasses the regular Europe > Canada servers? Just spit balling here.

Surely then SonusCore support are the ones best equipped to solve a problem of that kind. I mean I doubt that it would be legal to share the download that I have with you. You could also try using a VPN , e.g. Windscribe with 10 GB free per month , but if it is a server problem then I couldn't say for sure if how the SounsCore server serves you is per link or per IP address. WindScribe is free to try though if you want.

Thanks for your help, Poor Fellow.

My PC is connected to my modem via a CAT 6 ethernet cable. My download speed is close to 980 Megabits per second, so the connection is not likely an issue. Perhaps I'll wait until their product support people chime in. I've tried six times, with no success. I'll post their reply. Perhaps this will benefit others who face the same issue.

The Orchestra Elements Library sounds like a stellar product and I'm likely to buy some of their other products.

    Hi everyone,

I found the problem. I was getting a Network Error. I contacted Sonuscore and they told me that everything was okay at their end and suggested:

    • Turning off Norton 360
    • Purge all Internet files
    • Reset my Bell modem
    • Restart my PC
    • Try a different browser

I decided to try MS Edge. It failed the first time, so I used the Edge repair tool to reinstall Edge. The second time, I was successful! I now have the complete library and especially the .nicnt file!!

Thanks again for the great help, guys. Can't wait to try out this library. It sounds stellar!

Thank you very much for sharing your solution , I did write for you to try alternative browser(s) in my first answer 🙂 , but perhaps the problem were still another.. 🤔

Agreed, Poor Fellow and thanks for that.

That was the first thing I tried but I ended up in another rabbit hole when Edge alerted me to the Network Error message. Neither Chrome nor Firefox told me why the download failed - only Edge. From there, I was able to troubleshoot more specific avenues.

The Kontakt player and Orchestra now show up in Reaper. Time to make some tunes :). Thanks again…
