I've lost the .nicnt file for Electri6ity

Sine time ago I relocated Electri6ity from C: to an external SSD.
The other day, the SSD broke down and the data-recovery company said that it could hardly be restored.

Now my Native Access 2 is telling me to relocate Electri6ity, but I can't because the .nicnt file can't be taken out anymore. I guess reinstallation will work, but there's no such an option.

How can I use Electri6ity again? I'd appreciate any help.

This is third party product (Vir2\Big Fish Audio).

Your only play is to simply redownload your orginal archive from Big Fish - extract and place it where you want and then use NA to Locate it.

    Hello Cobalt,

As Vocalpoint said, Electri6ity is a third party Kontakt Library that cannot be downloaded / installed via Native Access.

Native Access is only responsible for authorising the library and locating it for use in Kontakt.

You will first need to download the library from the manufacturer

Once installed, simply follow the steps in this article to add the library to Native Access:

    I hope this helps☺️

I bought a physical at a local shop so I don't have an account for Big Fish Audio…

Does this mean there's nothing I can do?
I have the dongle, but it doesn't seem to have something useful in it…

    Physical? Like a DVD-ROM?

In that case - as long as you can still access the content - simply copy it to whereever you want to store it and then follow Mert's steps above.

Thank you for all of your comments. It's a USB dongle.

The first image is its structure. There's no .nicnt file in any folder.

The second image is the manual in the Documentation folder. It says there must've been two installers, but I can't see any. I guess the file structure may have changed through installation, but I don't remember how was the initial state (nor how I actually installed it three years ago).

BTW the present installation is done only on Native Access. So everything would go well only if I could reinstall Electri6ity, but I can't even deactivate it.

"The first image is its structure. There's no .nicnt file in any folder."

Got it - however this library is ancient - there is no .nicnt file and never was.

And - I am pretty sure this was not sold on a USB drive back in the early 2010's. How it got on that flash drive - only you can tell us.

That said - only modern NKS Libraries (that appear in the fancy Left panel of Kontakt OR the Library view) use this specific file set.

This library is an old school (circa 2010) "need to load this via the Files menu" library.

I am also suspect that Native Access is even needed for this either - this library dates to a time well before NA even existed. There is NO mention of it in your screencaps either.

I am guessing you can simply copy the entire contents of this USB to wherever you need your instruments to go and then fire up Kontakt, go to the files tab, browse to the Instruments folder and load up

Since vir2.com / Big Fish Audio still sells the product then it is possible that it has gotten updated and if you are the original buyer then maybe you could get your purchase updated at a fee if you ask their respective support sites , or maybe just get the .nicnt file if one were made in the time that has passed.

This is the content of the physical I bought in March 2022. It's actually USB dongle.

I tried it on Cubase and the standalone. The GUI appeared and responded to midi input, but there was no output (see the master meter shows -∞).

The lack of level could be routing or any other number of things.

I would test Kontakt and make sure it is working with another instrument. Any single library - regardless of vendor - does not have any influence over whether Kontakt's output routing is correct.

Other libraries made sound properly, so it isn't a rooting problem — I was gonna reply like this two days ago.

Now, in conclusion, I've recovered Electri6ity completely. I sent an inquiry to Big Fish Audio and they registered my serial number to my Big Fish Audio account so I could download the entire data anytime.

And I've confirmed Electri6ity has a .nicnt file. Its creation time is 2023 while that of other files is 2010 or something. This seems they added it to adjust to Native Access. The data that remains in my dongle appears to be the same as the normal one except the absence of the .nicnt file. I guess this is why my Electri6ity made no output.

Thank you to all of you for your helpful advice!

Now my only small problem is that Kontakt 8 doesn't show an icon of Electri6ity in "Libraries" tab, which makes me to directly load the .nki or .nkm file; while Native Access show "Installed" perfectly.
