All I want for Christmas is some MIDI FX routing! ^_^

yeah, it’s like what’s the hold up 🤷🏽♂️

I will say though, I have known how to use stuff in Maschine for years. Check out my scaler 2 demo in the link above!

Thanks for chiming in, I've seen the video. From what I can see it looks like you are using Scaler as a standalone and then routing with some sort of virtual loop back to Maschine.
We should be able to do this within Maschine without the need for 3rd party plugins. Some MIDI FX VSTS don't even have a stand-alone feature. I've also found that when using virtual midi there always seems to be latency as the track progresses as well as the complexity.
It also seems very strange to me that it seems that we would have the option to do it. We can load a MIDI FX VST to the first channel of a group and then load an instrument in the channel below, go to midi routing, midi out. In the destination you can even see the 2nd channel instrument there. But selecting it does nothing. 🤷♂️
We can't even route Reaktor Blocks, (Made by NI), sequencers to other VSTS within Maschine

Use Plugin Buddy (free) in Maschine to use MIDI FX

@dmori I use Plugin Buddy, it's a great wrapper! However if the Midi FX you are using does not have a midi drag and drop feature you won't be able to record any midi info back to Maschine. Also, Reaktor 6 midi sequencers do not seem to work with it.

Yeah, if you want to record the midi into Maschine I've found using Element standalone (may have to connect via IAC driver) works. I can't remember my exact setup, but you route it to the instrument/sound in Maschine. So for Ripchord/Scaler it records all notes in a chord. I did a video about it ages ago. I'll have a look and if I find it, I'll post the link here.
Found it:
Note: You need to use an external midi controller/keyboard to play chords (maschine controller won't work)

Thanks for taking the time to post the video link @dmori! It's a convoluted workflow though. It really shouldn't be that difficult. Plus we shouldn't have to rely on a third party plugin to do so, especially when the routing options are already in the software. My hope in making this post was that it would get some upvotes by others interested in this needed feature, so that NI could see there's interest in it and possibly do something about it. But nobody seems to care. 😅

I guess everybody is tired and frustrated of upvoting the same things over and over. Specially after the Maschine 3 disappointment.
Once again: +1 for midi routing

Totally agree. If I use Maschine software (which is less and less nowadays), I just record midi fx chords to samples then chop.
At the moment I do most of my music making on the iPad (which I absolutely love) - and I'm exploring ways to link & sync Maschine with it using Midi. (can't let all my VSTs sit there collecting dust)
I still really enjoy the MK3 and NKS - which makes it like a monsta synth. I'm kinda using it like a standalone (not looking at computer and with the benefit of all my VSTs), syncing midi and recording the audio into the iPad. A lot of fun using it this way (and working out the best workflow.) I recently got the H4Midi from CME for midi connection and this is looks like it will be quite handy.
