Battery 4 development

That must be a local issue with your setup. Battery loads everything just fine as long as it is managed by Native Access and everything is where it is expected to be.

It was stated way more time ago as well. I don't believe anything anymore. NI is a lost cause.

I wish you would vote with your feet or your wallet instead of these replies to my posts… I think you have made this point already.

I already voted with my wallet.

to be fair, you don't know this. it really doesn't matter what was said in the October chief product officer thread. "coming soon" means something very different to native instruments than it does its customers.

This is what I assume is happening. Possibly something that presents a pad/Battery like UI, but each pad with a Kontakt/Leap style sampler under the hood. Or possibly utilises a 16 channel Kontakt Multi. That way you could potentially assign any instrument to a voice. Conflux for example. Maybe.
That's just how I would go about it

The only "platforms" that NI is interested in developing, moving forward, are Komplete Kontrol, Kontakt and Maschine. REAKTOR and BATTERY are maintenance mode and people who want "more features" need to evaluate alternatives and stop wasting time. Battery is fine as a means of loading and playing Expansion Content, but that's about it.
I don't fault their decision. It's the right decision - holistically speaking.
I honestly think they should replace Battery 4 with Maschine 3 in Komplete 16. It doesn't make sense that this has yet to happen, IMO, aside from them desperately trying to sell as many controllers as possible...
Batter 4 has been largely obsolete for several years. There are much better products on the market and DAWs now have great drum samplers in the box. The only reason to consider it is for easy access to NI Expansion Content, but even for that… the browser sucks.
Generally, Maschine 2 was far better to use for that purpose.

What are the great Battery replacements in the market? I tried with XLN XO but in spite of its great sample finding system I find the 8 sample slots too limiting.

I sort of like Groove Agent but really only bought it because of Steinbergs recent anniversary sale.
In case that hadn't happened, I'd possibly go for either Speedrum or the TAL Drum Sampler.

Triaz from Wave Alchemy looks great…

Triaz is THE replacement. No contest whatsoever.

Triaz is much more based around the pattern/mixer approach, the individual cell functionality is limited compared to Battery. And you can't edit multiple samples at once, IIRC, something I'm using quite often.

Well - in my workflow " Battery's functionality is limited compared to Battery" :) So there is that.
I do not edit samples nor would I ever need to. I need creative action and a great vibe - fast.
With Triaz - I can do this using all of Battery's factory library and all the Expansions I own as well.
Triaz checks all boxes - for me anyway.

Sounds like an instant buy to me…

Actually no it does not, that is what all the complaints are about. Its the "missing sample bug" and nothing to do with my system.
