and a file search menu pops up to search for file that aren't even displayed in the window?

I tried to reinstall kontakt 8

reinstall the libraries

Bought don't seem to work. It's driving me nuts. I just want to produce music not being bussy problem solving.

DAW: Logic pro 11

Somebody knos the soloution for this?

I have the same problem, now I know because of your discussion that it's their problem, not ours. I even called my bank and told them the issue, and they said if it does work then I will be reimbursed for sure even if they say that they don't reimburse

I hope NI will come with an solution.

Since the installation my mac runs extremely slow and in feels het has something to do with the permissions of indexing of the file system… idk?

Please do not open duplicate discussions on same topic. I deleted your duplicate discussion , opening more duplicate discussion will give you a warning and limit you have your posting privileges.

As for your problem then please make sure that you have followed the standard Mac advice (see below here) .

You can also try to reset the Kontakt DB : reinitialize the KONTAKT Database

Instead of giving me a comment like this. I payed you a lot of money the last years.

So being more friendly and come with a solution that works would be nice. my friend.

As it says below my posts then I do not work for N.I.

So being more friendly and come with a solution that works would be nice. my friend.

? , I were being nice (I could have added you an account warning on top of my advice) and did try to assist you by giving advice.

    after that?

Did you try restting the DAW and resacn for plugins in the DAY ? Also then try opening Kontakt standalone to see if problem exists there. If there is no problem using the standalone does the problem then exist if you are using a new DAW project

Some libraries work perfectly but some it keeps saying: kontakt 8 file not found. please make sure external harddrive is connected.

To narrow down problem then also check if you are opening same Kontakt version in all instances.

Also did you actually check and follow the standard Mac from above ?

If you persist having problems then we can call for N.I. forum Customer Care to see if they have anything to add (the forum has a N.I. Customer Care Mac expert) , but that will be Monday or later as neither Support nor Customer Care works weekends.

You can also try contacting either N.I. Kontakt Support or N.I. Native Access and Installation Support depending on how you perceive the problem.

In case of you need further guidance : How to contact NI Support

    P.S.

I did just spot your "Native Access Installation Error -36" thread which I have no idea why you didn't get a response on. But if you have had problems using Native Access then that could be a reason for your problems ,e specially if you didn't follow the standard Mac advice.

@Ricashanty there are NO .dll files at all.

Kontakt 8 is a VST3 only plugin (Kontakt 8.vst3), while the .dll files was meant for VST2. You should know that very few developers continue to support VST2 (Steinberg dropped support completely on Cubase 14).
So, get used to a world without .dll's! :-)

VST3 system folder (on Windows) is at: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

    All your plugins are there.

Note: Please remember that, some DAW do not automatically insert the VST3 folder in their search paths!
You must add it yourself. I believe that this is the reason why you can't see Kontakt in your DAW.

@Jelle Wierda What installation locations did you choose for Applications in Native Access? We recommend to keep the default installation for the applications, which is : Macintosh HD > Applications > Native Instruments.

kontakt 8 file not found. please make sure external harddrive is connected.

Where is this error message coming from? Can you post a screenshot?

Have you been able to open Kontakt 8 in standalone?

I am also getting the error message when using Kontakt 8 in ableton live lite 12

I have installed the plugin to program files/common/vst3 and it shows up in ableton

When I add the kontakt 8 plugin to my project and select "session strings" I get a popup saying "file not found. please make sure that external drives are connected!"

here is the error I get when selecting abbey road 60s drummer

the way I solved it on my system was to uninstall all native instruments apps, manually delete any NI folders in C:\Users\Public\Documents, reinstall Native Access, then reinstall Kontakt

My system was really messed up because I was gifted Komplete 10 for christmas and after I installed it I found the serial had already been registered. So I had a lot of libraries which had no serial number, even after I uninstalled these they still appeared in Kontakt.

for some reason, after reinstallation the C:\Users\Public\Documents\Native Instruments\installed_products folder still lists Abbey Road 60s Drummer (which I had uninstalled) along with a lot of other stuff I have removed, but Kontakt only lists the libraries I have reinstalled, so all good, im done with messing around with my computer, time to make some music!
