Otherwise then I will recommend you that you buy the Komplete 15 Standard instead. A new purchase of a full bundle is %50 off at the moment and it will give so much more than just Kontakt 8 (among other all the Flagships software and lots of expansions). So unless that you do not care for all the rest bundle content then the Komplete Standard bundle (or higher tier) generally will be the best deal.

The biggest question is what do you have in your NI acct for Kontakt right now? Kontakt 7 Full? Kontakt Player 7?
Crossgrades are based on existing qualifying "Kontakt application product" (Not an instrument like the Gentleman) - and if you are not actually logged into your NI Acct when inside the Web Shop - trying to buy this product - the shop cannot determine what you have.
Show us a screencap of what you have in Native Access so we can piece this together.

Neither did I , but when the OP initially referred to the "even though I have The Gentleman in the Kontakt library list." then I checked the link. I understand your confusion, I frankly find it equally confusing , especially with the Kontakt version 7 and 8 mix shown on one of my now edited pictures above. (added arrows to emphasize the version mix up) .
Also then apparently third party libraries may also qualify :

Yes - it would be nice if NI could actually employ a few more web developers and have the website reflect reality.
Kontakt 7 is retired so all these references to it - make this way more confusing than it needs to be.
